No love for the Snowmobiler

Post by chrisn »

Where the h*ll is that "NO SNOWMOBILES ALLOWED" sign? I have yet to see it and going on our 4th trip back. It's probably on that one road we've yet to traverse.

Honey wants to get a pic so he can blow it up and hang it in his garage. Gotta find it this time.

I know where it is, I just don't know the name of the road. It is on the way to Calypso Del Sol......on Chocolate Hole.....I think there are dipsey dumpsters there where you turn.

Chrisn,

We stayed there and drove by it daily, but it's been several years, so my instructions are subject to having knocked out a few brain cells in the interim. ;-)

Leaving Cruz Bay, go PAST the Westin, I think the first street on the right is Great Cruz Bay Road (we stayed here another time). Continuing past GCB road, it is the 3rd (maybe 2nd?) road, and there may be a driveway in there. I believe it is called Chocolate Hole East or something like that. This road leads to villas on the point that is between Chocolate Hole and and the next bay east, which I'm not sure of the name. It is the point east of Maria Bluff, which separates GCB and CH.

The sign is a short distance in, and IIRC before any forks. If you should encounter a fork before seeing the sign, bear right, since that takes you to the side of the point overlooking CH, where we stayed.

Option 2, not as adventerous, but you could PM me with an e-mail address and I will send you a pic, assuming I can find it. I know I took one and am pretty sure I can lay my hands on it easily, though we had a computer problem awhile back, I think before that stay, not 100% sure.

Chocolate Hole - Follow the road to the new Pond Bay development and you can't miss it. On the way up the hill on the left hand side.

Saw it for the first time this last trip. It's by Pond Bay-was eyeballing that development and nearly missed the snowmobile sign!

Another curiosity from someone with a sense of humor. At the time it was the only parking meter on STJ. It was somewhere around Upper Carolina, on a lonely dirt road, on Ajax Peak. Like the ones in DC, it probably takes your quarter!

It is on the same road as the new Pond Bay project... Sue believes it's Bovacoap Rd.
