Anyone bored and wants to help with villa suggestions?

Post by shandrac »

Been to STJ three times and have never done the villa thing. We need a villa for 2 under $2000 for July 3-10th or 11th.

Would like
a/c in bedroom
pool
spa
good view--would like to be up high
privacy

What areas would we get sunsets that time of year?

Any areas to avoid due to construction?

I've looked at so many I'm totally confused.
Thanks for any help!!

Get in touch with Caribbean Villa and book Island Time. It's a great 2 bedroom villa with a pool, hot tub, amazing view, etc. Check it out.

Try Time Out Villa in Chocolate Hole...has everything you're looking for but just a bit over the price you mentioned but the view is so beautiful, complete with gorgeous sunsets!
Vacation Vistas is the rep for them now.

Enjoy your search....there are so many great villas out there!

French Cap is very nice - off Devers Bay - beautiful views, sun sets are not directly in view but were certainly awesome in May. Be wary of Chocolate Hole - lots of construction going on for the Pond Bay development. You will notice some sites giving discounts due to this. We just returned two weeks ago and suffering from severe withdrawals. Hope this helps.

St. John Passion on Rendezvous Bay is just a little over your price but we've stayed there and really loved the location/view etc.

Thanks for the quick replies. Keep them coming.

About Cloud 9, are there other villas close to it and do you have any shade during the afternoon? The deck looks hot.

Since you already have dates I'd contact 3 or 4 agents and see what's available for your dates. That will whittle down your choices and make chosing easier.

Comment on French Cap Villa

Post by Pat »

I notice there is a recommendation on this thread for French Cap. Having just been there I wanted to make a few comments. I have stayed at this villa four times. This last visit, a month ago, was sorely disappointing. The house was not cleaned and items were broken. Please read the villa review by someone else that stayed there. Our experiences were identical to theirs. We had bug bites from the bedroom, pool issues, and lots more!! I don't like
to trash a house, however, this has really gone down hill. :!: :!: :!:

Hi Shandrac~
Cloud 9 has a villa on either side but you can't see them at all from your outside deck.
There is a covered patio on the deck that we ate all our meals at with nice breezes. We were there in August and if we were ever warm we would just jump in the pool. I don't remember being hot way up there. Loved the beautiful sunsets! Good luck~ 8)

Thanks for the suggestions. It's nice to hear personal experiences. Amazing how many of us Texans are on this board. We're in Lubbock.

msgcolleen, Are the villas so close you can hear noise from the others? Does it look onto the pond bay construction?

Looking at Sundance too or maybe Coral bay?

Perelandra has everything on your list except a hot tub; dk if that's a deal-breaker. Definitely great views, wonderful sunsets, up high, pool, private, etc. Plus if I remember right, your dates are over July 4th when you'd have the 'best seat in the house' to see the fireworks (aka it's deck! :) )

I think it's a little higher than your target but if your dates fit well with her other bookings, owner might come down (she did for us once).

You can see the calendar and a bunch of pictures either on vrbo or homeaway; I forget which one as I use both a lot.

Good luck on your villa hunt! I'm jealous; I wish I was planning a trip for this summer but it looks like we'll have to wait 'til fall.

Have fun.

Hi Shandrac~
Small world: I went to Tech!

Anyway, the only view from C9 is the Westin Resort on Great Cruz Bay. Pond Bay is around Chocolate Hole.
(I have some pics of the view if you want to PM me)

I don't remember people noise from the villa but at the time there was construction going on in the morning from a new villa down the road. The C9 manager can give you up to date info. Happy hunting!

We've stayed in Sundance and loved it for what it is. A clean, basic villa with an easy drive into Cruz Bay, a pool and a hot tub. Also, it had great a/c which was wonderful. I would stay there again in a heart beat. The view is pretty looking over Hart Bay, but the other is over a salt pond. Didn't bother us at all. You could hear the waves from Hart Bay which was wonderful. Not a ton of kitchen supplies, but enough to cook a meal. Great coolers, beach chairs, beach towels and a manager that is quick to answer any problem or question.

Good luck choosing!
