question re: downtown ferry

Post by sunlover »

I know that back in November, when there was a reduced ferry schedule, I had heard that the Charlotte Amalie ferry was smaller than the red hook ferry, and that passengers and luggage could get a little (or more than a little!) wet if the seas were rough. Does anyone know if the CA ferry is back to normal? Does it depend on what time of day it is? Thanks much!!

sunlover,
We were on St. John 2/1 thru 2/10....we took the CA ferry both ways and it was the regular size. I believe that they are running on a normal schedule.
When we were there in September we took what they called the "small fast ferry" to CA; the sea was not rough, but I could see where getting wet may have been a possibility in different conditions.
Hope this helps :) ....mia
