Caribe or Emerald for airport wait

Post by pswlrw »

We have a group of ten arriving from various locales around the country. I think I did pretty well by getting everyone on flights within a 2 hour timeframe! We are renting 2 SUVs at the airport, but our drivers are in the last group arriving. I would like to suggest that the first 6 folks taxi over to a local bar/restaurant to wait rather than sitting in the airport. Is the Caribe or Emerald Beach better for this?

I sent our group down town to Drakes passage and they waited at the bar there. But we were taking the down town ferry so it was right across the road when the rest showed up

I’m assuming that you all will be going to STJ and will be taking the car barge over. Why don’t you have your crew take a taxi to Molly Malone’s in Red Hook (this is close to the car barge) and hang out there until your drivers show up. They can get a “head-start” getting their blood alcohol level up – your drivers can drive by and load them up – and then you hop on the car barge. Just and idea.

I'm in a similar situation. We have to wait about 2 hrs. for my friend's plane to land after we get in, and we're going to wait at the Caribe because it's walking distance from the airport terminal. I called them and they have both a restaurant and a bar and they said it's fine to wait there (of course we'll buy lunch and probably more than a couple of drinks!)
