Thanks Tom,
I wonder if it would be possible to order one and have it shipped to one's rental agency on St. John? :?

I've never used them, but I don't think that you can ship any kind of canned/bottled propellant like butane or propane. I did some carpentry work in November and was surprised that all of the nailers they used were compressor/ air powered. Up here, I use a cordless Paslode framing nailer that runs off of a combo battery and bottled gas propellent.Much easier then dragging an air hose up a ladder, or roof. I was told they can't bring in the propellant, even to STT, which struck me as odd. I know that you can't ship those bottles via UPS, or Fedex, even stateside.
I feel very lucky in regards to the skeeters and noseeums, as they rarely affect me. I do take the B vitamins before going down there, and on the rare times that the bugs do bother me, I find nothing that isn't a very high concentration of Deet does any good at all. Spray your hat, too! Sometimes minimizing your exposure is your best defence, i.e. late afternoon is often the worst. Also, if the breeze is coming from the vegetation behind you, rather then off the water, the bugs will be more active. At Francis and Saltpond, if you spend a lot of time sitting at the picnic tables under the trees to avoid the heat of the sun, you'll find that you have been invited for dinner and you're the main course. Also, folks that I've gone down with that use a lot of smelly soaps, shampoos, perfumes, etc. always seem to get it the worst. Now I'm not saying not to bathe, but to minimize the stuff that leaves a residual smell of flowers, etc. Just my observation. Peace and Harmony
