OH NO, losing a bottle of that in yoru suitcase--while the smell is good--what a bear!--we had a situation when coming back from a trip to Greece wee stored all this wine in our folding kayak bags (we had brought a kayak there with us )--well we lost two bottles (white thankfully) and the kayak was fragrant for a while,
but the real problem was this bottle of single malt that My husband had--(this is back in the days when you could still bring liquids onto planes)
only a few glasses had been consumed, so that bottle was coming home and was in the overhead bin--corked (since that is how this particular bottle came)
so, we are flying and all of a sudden i smell SCOTCH...
uh oh......Mr Loria says no problem just ignore it probably someone having a drink--I am saying WHAT????? It's REALLY a STRONG smell
and then it starts Dripping....oh boy....not on us..on the guy behind us (whose stuff is ALSO in the same overhead bin) Oh man...
we get up there and of course almost the whole contents of the bottle had leaked into the overhead bin due to the pressure change dislodging the cork--
I was Freaked--I offered to pay the guys dry cleaning, write a check right there for damages, whatever--and his response?
'relax, it's single malt--if it had been a blend, then i might have charged you'
what a nice person. honestly he had to smell like a still getting off of that plane.
i still feel bad about that.
