Final trip report for May, 2008. Yes, May, 2008.
When we left off last June(!), I'd reported on Saturday to Tuesday. KatieH was kind enough to remember my unfinished report, so I'm writing this more for closure than anything else.
DID YOU SAY FORECLOSURE? TAKE IT TO THE OFF-TOPIC BOARD.
Hello again, Forum, and thanks for being the unpaid extras in this production. This time I'm going to forgo the dialogue thing, because I think it really annoys some people.
NO, NO, IT'S NOT THE DIALOGUE. IT'S YOU THAT ANNOYS US.
I never posted pictures, so this should be fun. We're definitely not the photographers that some of you are, but they say...
THEY SAY "A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS."
Yeah, but I'm a writer, and I don't believe that for a second. Anyway, let's get started.

Like many of you, we were obsessed with the bananaquits, and tried to get as many of them around as possible.

This one took a break to pose on the bougainvillea around our pool.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/10177037@N04/3249784586/" title="L'Esprit Veranda by iwrite, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3372/324 ... 05cb_o.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="L'Esprit Veranda"></a>
Here's part of the veranda of L'Esprit de la Vie. One of my complaints was no table on the veranda, and you can see there was plenty of room for one.

Jeff and Teresa snorkeled twice at Ditleff Beach, and liked it. Well, I guess if they went twice, they must have. Duh.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/10177037@N04/3245525482/" title="DSCF0676 by iwrite, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3360/324 ... e559_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="DSCF0676"></a>
Those lots on Ditleff cost a fortune, but look at this incredible view to the east, all the way to Ram Head.

Dinner Friday night was at the Equator Restaurant at Caneel. We love that place, not that the food is exceptional (though it's very good), but just the feeling of the place. And the service in 2008 was much better than in 2006 - must have been new management.

Here's Jeff's first attempt ever at snorkeling. I could have told him about putting the fins on before getting in the water, but I wanted this picture. I've affectionately called it, "Jeff fall down and go boom."

That's me on the left, with Jeff, who was doing his Godfather impression. Thursday night was dinner at Lime Inn. This is another place we love for the atmosphere more than the food. Food's good, but the hospitality and buzz in the place are just wonderful.

Here's the traveling party. Top to bottom: Pam and Gary, Teresa and Jeff, Jeannie and Robin. Taken at ZoZo's at sunset.
Well, that's it. We're going back in three months, so I'll try my best to have a more timely conclusion to the trip reports next time.
AND TRY TO HAVE A NEW FORMAT, HUH? WE'RE TIRED OF BEING YOUR STRAIGHT MAN. MEN. PERSONS.
I guess, but you're so good at it! Thanks for playing along...

And I went before Lulu and only finished the first half of it.Lulu76 wrote:I was going to finish my trip report tonight. I went in November. Robin has set the bar for me.
Robin has inspired me to finish it, but I won't pretend that I'll be as prompt as Lulu says she'll be - heck, I've been promising sea-nile for months that I'll post pictures from our scuba trips on line, and have yet to get to that.
Extended island time?
Oh yeah - thanks for the conclusion of your report Robin!
Come see us!
