St. Thomas

Post by kma27 »

While I do enjoy reading all your stuff about STJ...aren't there any people out there who could write about St. Thomas!!! I feel like such an outsider because I like STT better than STJ. We're leaving in 24 days and absolutely can't wait to get there (probably our 15th trip) and it always as exciting as the first!! Come on you guys!!

Admittedly this forum has evolved into being very STJ centric. That's just who is attracted here and it's what we know and like.

I have spent time on both STT and STJ and just prefer STJ better for a variety of reasons.

That being said, if you have any specific questions about STT I am sure that several folks on the forum will be glad to answer.

I can suggest a few of my fave STT restaurants; bars; jewlery stores and shopping areas.

STT is just a very different experience for me.

Since you like STT please feel free to share some of your favorite things.

I am sure others might appreciate your input.

KMA, I do love STT. I just feel comfortable there.

Why don't you tell us what you enjoy on STT and what you have to do everytime you get there.

How about restaurants and where you stay?

I, for one, would love to hear more about STT. Will you post a trip report for us? I wish more people would post about STT, as well. :D

Me too :)

Maybe it is time for the biennial "should we have a forum for each island" question, which is always shot down by most...

Maybe it is time??? Thoughts?

I don't think separate forums are such a great idea, Anthony. Since you don't see much posted about STX or STT here, I think those forums would be pretty empty on their own. Besides, I might not check them as often and miss something. I'm already overwhelemed by this forum, the OT forum and Facebook! There aren't enough hours in my day for 2 more forums!

Maybe it is time for "change." Since Dems in DC are considering re-implementing the Fairness Doctrine for radio and TV talk shows, why not here too? In fact, there should be limits how many posts are allowed on the STJ forum in all fairness to the STT and STX forums.

tjwgrr I think you were joking (you were wern't you :) ) but just in case you wern't you want to limit the number of posts allowed about STJ on a VI forum?? - kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it - it's no ones fault that there are more posts about STJ than the other islands but there are other forums (not nearly as friendly or good I admit) that one could visit should one feel this is a "lopsided" and unfair to one island forum.

As I see it, the issue with posts here about STT or STX is that they get buried very quickly due to STJ post acitvity and, if STX or STT is not identified in the subject, then one might never even know they are even here.

How about an "umbrella" of US Virgin Islands Travel Forum and then sub-forums for each island? And, the option to look at all USVI posts under the umbrella, or just look at each island's posts separately. I know there is another forum that does something similar, but, to me, it is just so much easier to go through posts this way and filter.

I think separate forums is a good idea.

I deal with tons of data in my job and I am a firm believer in data organization/segregation.

I think the OT forum here has helped separate topics and allows people to find what they want more easily. I also think that this forum does a fantastic job of separating villa reviews so they can be found "easily"...Anthony has done a bang up job...

Here's a thought, indicate the Island you are posting about or requesting info on in the subject line....... seems like a simple solution
