After posting long ago that my incomprehensible husband didn't LOVE St. John enough to eat Ramen for a year (if need be) to afford a return trip, he up and booked us for my birthday!!!! Woo hoooooooooooooooooo!

So can anybody share what's going to be the biggest shocker in terms of change from 3 years ago? I need to prepare in case another favorite place (eg Ditleff) is slated for development......

Not much going on at Ditleff yet, not that we could see. Except A LOT more people using the beach!!

How exciting, hubby is a GOOD MAN!! My only thought is that the island is more crowded than it was 3 years ago. Southshore Rd between 3:00 and 4:00pm was packed with men & equipment from Pond Bay. I don't know how many construction workers are at Pond Bay, but the road was backed up every afternoon we tried to use it.

If you haven't been on the rock in 3 years, I think the biggest shock aleast for me STILL is both Grande Bay & Sirenusa taking up most of the hillside and the lack of greenery which was once dotted with villas  . But that's so called progress. Any how, congratulations on you return trip. 8)
