Need help with a gift

Post by PSUWethr »

My parents are going back down to STJ in Feb. to renew their wedding vows. They will be married 40 years! Anyway, I was trying to think of a gift to get them. They seem to have everything and when I ask them they say nothing. I was thinking of a neat island gift basket but not sure how to get one together. They will be staying at their house so there can be stuff they can keep down in the island. Assuming I can figure out what to put in the basket, anyone know who I could get to help me on island?

Here are my ideas....

1 pound of Kiss of the Jumbie Coffee from STJ Ruth
Uncle Joes BBQ (chicken and ribs)
Bottle of Mango Rum
flowers

Thanks for any help!

You're so sweet. Maybe St. John Ruth could give you some ideas.

What about arranging from "in house" massages and a catered dinner -- or gift certificate at their favorite restaurant!

About reserving a table at their favorite restaurant, prepaid by you of course, so they can go have a relaxing romantic dinner St. John style.

What about an excursion? Maybe treat them to a charter to the BVI's. I know I would love a trip to Jost Van Dyke--it is really nice and so beautiful.

If they aren't into that maybe treating them to a spa treatment would be fun. If they have their own house in St. John, and you decide to put together a basket, maybe get them something personal for the house. I always like wind chimes but I am sure you can come up with something that will mean a lot to them for their home away from home.

If they own the house, do they have a property manager? Maybe they could help.
