would any of the Gallows units work for a family of 6? 4 kids aged 8-16.

I just read on their site that they do not recommend for children under 12 so maybe that's out.

So next question .. my girlfriend wants to be like me and go to STJ (Christmas 2009). She'd need a 3 bdrm minimum and she'd like interior access on the bedrooms. She wouldn't dig putting her teens in another pod or anything like that.

I know it's been asked to death but since it's not one of my requirements I never pay attention to the answers! Sorry

Mary Beth, I'd think that would be really tight although I do believe that some upper units have two sleeper sofas in the LR with the bedroom upstairs with a king. I suppose you could put the 4 kids in the LR if the management permitted it. The lower units would definitely be too small, IMO.

What about Lavender Hill? They have great units and 2 and 3 br options.

We stay at Lavender Hill when we visit and will be back in May. All thumbs up here on the ratings for Lavender from me.

They do have a unit that might fit your bill. I think it is unit 3W. Check them out at lavenderhillsuites.net.

Gallows won't work for a group that size. Have you looked at the villa Alessandra? I believe all the bedrooms are interior access there.

At Allesandra 1 of the bedrooms is in a separate building. BUT, one of the bedrooms has a queen bed and a futon.

One Particular Harbor has 2 interior bedrooms, but the Master is separate. You might check with Donald Schnell. His Beach Villa has 3 bedrooms that are interior, but it's a pretty pricey villa.

I'll keep thinking though.

I agree--I didn't like having me teens in the pod either. You might have to just start calling and asking the management companies what they suggest. My teens loved having their own pod but it kept me awake at night.

What about Palm Terrace if they need/want to be in Cruz Bay itself. My family always stay there when the whole herd visits and there is no room for all at (my) inn

Mary Beth: We stayed at Jazz Villa about 5 years ago. It has interior access to all rooms plus a nice big pool. It was nice villa for the price.

I stayed at Palm Terrace in May 2008 in a 3 bedroom (unit #5). It was a nice condo and suited my group's needs. It was roomy, fully airconditioned, with washer/dryer, one queen (or king), two full (or queen), and two twin beds, as I recall. It was easy walking distance to the Beach Bar (if the hills don't bother you too much), which was great. We didn't have the hassle of having to find a parking place when going to town.

Starlit Escape is great for families and has interior access to the bedrooms. The parents can have the master with a private deck and hammock to get away, but still be close enough to keep tabs. check out www.starlitescape.com

We looked hard at Jazz Villa in 2007 (it was more house than we needed so we went with another) and since then I have heard positive comments about it.

The agent thought it would be good for us as we also had interior bedrooms in mind.
