I think Bermuda would be a great place to honeymoon!
I've visited once via cruiseship though.
It is expensive but it is a very special time
for them and I think it is very romantic.
Not at all "Caribbean-like" and no party
atmosphere, but very quaint and beautiful in
its own way.
One of my brothers honeymooned there and I believe
they stayed @ Elbow Beach. It is very easy and inexpensive to get around the island
via the bus if you purchase the passes.
Only 1 vehicle per household so no car rentals and the buses stay busy.
I believe now there is a "swim with the dolphins" at
the Nelson's Dockyard and I'm sure jet skiis are
an option somewhere. Horseshoe Bay has the unique
pink sand.
I'm sure wherever they go to celebrate will be
fantastic!

Hi,
My husband and I went to Bermuda last year(September) and really loved it. It is really expensive though. We stayed at the Elbow Beach resort in the updated villas on the hill. They were awesome. I was searching for an inexpensive trip to Bermuda recently and found these
http://www.clairfontapartments.bm/location.html They got great reviews on tripadvisor.
These apartments are right up the street from the beach and very close to a bus line. Key in Bermuda because taxi's cost us an average of $30-50 for each trip to dinner or town. Food is super expensive there but very good. The people are amazingly nice. I love their accents! I don't believe they will fine zip line but definitely jet ski's and boats too! The pink sand beaches are really amazing and the water was 83 degrees with a pretty good surf. I have some great recommendations for dinner if you are interested.

Bermuda is for Rich Honeymooners!
Having lived there for five years and just visited friends last year, I can tell you that there is almost nothing inexpensive in Bermuda. While it is very, very beautiful, it is equally as expensive. This is coming from someone that lives on St John. The most affordable way to visit is via cruise ship. That would allow about as oceanfront as you can get as they dock either on Front Street in the capital of Hamilton, in St George or Dockyard, all of which have things to do. There are many
ships that use Bermuda as their only destination so they can use the ship as their hotel and save money for other things.
If they do decide on Bermuda, I would be happy to answer any questions they may have. If I don't know the answer, I still have lots of friends that live there. Just have them PM me.

Thanks Pia.
They are leaving on Saturday going to the Gatlinburg. They told us a month ago that they are expecting a baby in June
and had decided to move the wedding up from May to December. So, they decided not to take a vacation too far from home to save money.
It looks like we will be first time grandparents in June.
We will be in St John the last week of May and the baby is due the third week in June. I have my fingers crossed that the baby doesn't come while we are gone.

I have to second the Westin at Our Lucaya in the Bahamas. Tons of restaurants in hotel & across the street at the marketpalce. There is a casino also. Great place. Not STJ but an alternative. Carambola on STX is a great honeymoon spot, actually a wedding there is great also. It is at the end of a road in a cove, very private..cool buildings with 8 rooms. Pick a second floor room for the cathedral ceilings. Been to both & had a wonderful time at both. Very different places
