Yes, hubby and I are very happy with FlyAway Charters!
Capt George was our captain both times and we highly recommend him. He has many many many years of experience on the water. He also works with Capt Truman who we tried to book with the first time but he had a house emergency and we got George. I've heard great things about Truman too so you'll win no matter who takes you out.
The power boat is called a power catamaran. The dual hull (I think that's what they call it
) makes for a very smooth ride on the ocean.... no jaw clenching and bone jarring when you hit waves. It's more like taking a boat ride on your own couch.
Hubby and I went alone our first year. Last year we took his parents. His Mom said it was the best day trip she's ever done from STJ (we are frequent visitors).
If you are looking for catering and luxury, though, you won't find it on this trip. There's no brunch service and vicysoisse (sp?). If you want snacks, bring em. If you want specific beer and soda, bring it. You'll hit a restaurant for lunch unlesss you bring your own. I reccomend Foxy's taboo if you are going to the BVI's. George had a little rum on the boat last time for a quick drink but there was no cocktail hour. He's more of a captain than an entertainer/server.
He'll tell you some great stories, though, if you get him to join you for lunch. And he'll take you to some really great snorkel stops.
The boat ride itself is the main attraction. Great boat, great ride!
It's bit expensive but totally worth it! You'll have a wonderful time!
