Since others brought up timelines, here is something I will never forget about the events leading up to September 11, 2001:
The President's Daily Brief (PDB) for August 6, 2001 contained a two-page section entitled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US," and refers to possible hijacking attempts by Osama bin Laden disciples and the existence of about 70 FBI investigations into alleged al-Qaeda cells operating within the United States. The August 6 PDB was presented to Bush while he vacationed and was clearing brush at his ranch in Crawford, Texas.

Can someone explain to me how a person's accent makes then stupid or smart?

I work with master's degree librarians in Wisconsin, Iowa and Ohio and they all share a similar accent to Sara Palin's.

I can answer that...It is because liberals "embrace" individuality and diversity - unless of course that person's ideology is different from theirs.

It is why they did not support Clarence Thomas 20 years ago, and why they do not support Sarah Palin today.

If you achieved without any help from Affirmative Action (like Thomas), well then you cannot be supported by the left.

If you are a woman who has does not support abortion...If you actually made the courageous CHOICE to deliver a baby with Down Syndrome...If you are a woman who can balance career and family, but you are a conservative, well then no soup for you from the "Feminists".

But if you are a woman who allowed her man to cheat on you at will, only to stay with him because you know that without him, your dreams of political success go into the toilet...Well it's "Hill" in '08 for the feminists!!! Why? Nevermind your man embarassed you on a historic level - you are a liberal and we support you.

If Barack Obama was the Republican nominee, he would be inexperienced with more radical associations than Mock-Mood Ahk-Ma-Din-a-Jad.

Dave - If my memory serves me correctly, President George Bush was reading to children at the time of the attacks and had no reaction whatsoever. Reference to Bill Clinton in this situation isn't valid.

I actually think Dave was talking about the fact that while Bin-Laden was planning this attack, slick-willy was under his desk getting his willy-slicked.

We all know Bush was in office...But please don't tell me you think this elaborate plan was hatched in the 9 months that Bush was in office.

Bin Laden is on record as saying that he knew he could attack the US on a grand scale because of how Clinton reacted in Somalia (Black-Hawk down)...As in, he turned-tail and ran while our soldiers' bodies were being paraded through the streets by these thugs that the left (including Obama) thinks we can "negotiate" with.

Actually, Clinton tried to go after Bin Laden, but the republicans in congress refused to allow it to happen, saying that he was using that as a "Wag the Dog" tactic to try and distract attention from his personal indiscretions.

Simply not true...Republicans were against Clinton's "40,000" foot war on Bin Laden...You know, dropping a bomb here and there, hope you hit something.

Remember the Aspirin Factory that Clinton blew up because he "thought Bin-Laden was there"? Well, he was there, but he moved just before the bomb hit.

I thought you guys were against "Collateral Damage"...Remember the abortion debate?

I honestly expected it to be a trainwreck, especially after I watched that Katie Couric clip where she couldn't name any Supreme Court cases besides Roe v. Wade and didn't even know WHY she doesn't support that decision. Goodness.

Well, word is that CBS took 2 hours of tape in that interview, and have thus far shown about 15 minutes worth.

CBS and NBC are complete jokes at this point. I put absolutely no stock into those interviews.

5 million people watched Palin on Couric - 70 million people watched her last night.

Hey Soxfan, I really feel for you having to spend all of your time defending and justifying the Republicans and this administration. It's a full time job, no?

I do want to say, if indeed the entire mess was started by Clinton and his administration, you guys took the ball and ran head on as fast as you could to this real mess we're in now. You can say all you want that this economic problem is the Republicans' fault, but the facts just don't support that notion.

It was George Bush who as far back as 2002 tried to get guys like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd to listen to him that reform was needed. No George, everything is fine. Besides, our pockets are getting lined by Fannie and Freddie.

It was John McCain who warned in 2006 that we were headed for economic disaster if we don't reform these corrupt institutions.

In a hearing on Fannie/Freddie in 2004:

Maxine Waters (D-CA): Through nearly a dozen hearings, we were frankly trying to fix something that wasn’t broke. Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and particularly at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Franklin Raines. [Raines would barely avoid prosecution for fraud.]

Gregory Meeks (D-NY): … I’m just pissed off at OFHEO [the regulators trying to warn Congress of insolvency at the GSEs], because if it wasn’t for you, I don’t think we’d be here in the first place. … There’s been nothing that indicated that’s wrong with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac has come up on its own … The question that then comes up is the competence that your agency has with reference to deciding and regulating these GSEs.

Lacy Clay (D-MO): This hearing is about the political lynching of Franklin

Barney Frank (D-MA): I don’t see anything in this report that raises safety and soundness problems.
