Have a great weekend everyone. I am headed to Maine to enjoy the weekend with no TV, no internet, and the only debate will be who is the first one to deal the cards.

Remember that we all are passionate about our causes and beliefs....I BELIEVE I will head to STJ next year 'CAUSE I need sun, rum, and relaxation!

Your kiddin' right? Please tell me you are. This was all happening during Clinton's time in office. It's just a fact though...

I take great offense to this post. For the past 3 years, The Simpson's have gone steadily downhill. I think they are just mailing it in.

Dead on CG...I think that other poster rushed into saying something but did not articulate it how he wanted to. Or just twisted the facts to fit. Hmmm.....kinda like Iraq.

Actually, Clinton tried to go after Bin Laden, but the republicans in congress refused to allow it to happen, saying that he was using that as a "Wag the Dog" tactic to try and distract attention from his personal indiscretions.

Great start for W, really great.
And, in response, your guy lied to the American public about weapons of mass destruction and led us into a pointless war. This war is the result of a knee-jerk response by a President who did not want to appear impotent after the 9/11 attacks. Pathetic.

I'm not going to get into the whole Bush/Clinton debate going on because as Sarah likes to say "Let's leave that in the past, Joe."

Sarah Palin makes me embarrassed to have ovaries. She's totally a pawn in some sick game to win female votes, which is very unfortunate after we had a qualified, intelligent woman running for the White House earlier this year.

And while I am not a Palin fan at all, I have to say that she did a very good job at the debate last night. I honestly expected it to be a trainwreck, especially after I watched that Katie Couric clip where she couldn't name any Supreme Court cases besides Roe v. Wade and didn't even know WHY she doesn't support that decision. Goodness.

However, she pulled it out and did what she does best: talked about nothing and made you feel like she cared. She had the potential for disaster, and she pretty much aced it, even though I'm not sure she actually answered a single question Gwen Ifill asked her (she actually said "I might not answer your questions, I'm just talking to America tonight" or something like that).

I don't think the media are giving Sarah a fair shake, but they didn't give Hillary one either. At least they are being fair...

It was a good debate, even though I'm sure it changed absolutely no one's mind or helped them decide if they haven't yet. This is going to be a very interesting election.

Since others brought up timelines, here is something I will never forget about the events leading up to September 11, 2001:
The President's Daily Brief (PDB) for August 6, 2001 contained a two-page section entitled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US," and refers to possible hijacking attempts by Osama bin Laden disciples and the existence of about 70 FBI investigations into alleged al-Qaeda cells operating within the United States. The August 6 PDB was presented to Bush while he vacationed and was clearing brush at his ranch in Crawford, Texas.

And the U.N. resolutions? The umteen countries that agreed with the Iraq situation... Clinton agreed too, I could go on and on but this is a dead horse that with statements like yours it's obvious that you are so uninformed/blinded by the facts that it just doesn't make sense for me to waste my time. TGIF. I closed the company early and am headed to my lush, opulent lake house. Thanks for the tax break W !!

That's what happens when one perpetrates fraud...they get others to go along with what they are "selling."

I, too, am going to close up the business and head to my house on the lake. We gave our tax break to the Obama campaign after hearing Palin speak. Thanks W.

By the way, if we both have houses on lakes, what the hell are we doing get tax breaks?

Everyone on this board should be mindful of a famous quote. Although its origin is sketchy, it is often attributed to Abraham Lincoln, a former President.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Something we should all think about before posting too quickly sometimes. :)

Peace!
