Its fun to finally "see" the inside of that house. Its a gorgeous spot for sure, but some of it is too formal for me. As long as we're talking about extravagant places I'll never be able to afford to rent, I would much prefer the more islandy, open-air feel of Necker Island:
Yes but Mike, it's $42,500 per week for Christmas/New Year and $32,500 per week for high season but the deal breaker for me was that those prices are the "without chef" prices - I was almost going to rent it for my "forum family" but now I would have to cook for you all as well - no go
Good Golly Molly...two paragraphs in to "Nancy's
description" and my eyes were tired from trying to
read all the "BIG WORDS"! I hope they drew up and
printed a map for the place so the 1 rich person
that stays there won't get lost .
Lord help us STJ lovers if this the new "future"
housing standard for North Shore.

That's what I was thinking. Not that I don't love some of these deluxe villas that are popping up, but I really hope that we don't all get priced off the island by all the affordable housing options getting squeezed out. The place we're staying doesn't have bells and whistles, but we still get to stay on STJ for a week, and that's all that matters.
After the comments yesterday about Maho and hoping this wasn't its future, I have decided to donate a little extra money to the Trust for Public Land. It's the least we can do, I think.
