My 2 cents is the villas we have stayed at had washers and dryers and detergent ... it was never a big deal to toss a load in once or twice, they prefer you do full loads instead of lots of little loads to save water. Destination St John provided maid service when we staye...

we used them to rent La Jolla Caribe, very helpful. Nice gift basket, helped arrange rental car, ferry greeter etc Very good experience.

For the fishermaen/women out there, be very careful with the DEET. I was using it while fly fishing and after a couple of days I wondered why my fly line was stuck together... The guide informed me that deet can melt the fly line! I still use it but I wonder what else it can melt.
