Rachel is great-I've used her a few times. For an alternative though, have you thought about renting your car on STT (from Amalie car). You put the toddler in the car at the airport and drive straight to St John (via the car ferry).

The trail is easy to find. We snorkeled Haulover North for the first time in December (finally we were there on a calm day). It was great snorkeling. You just have to go when the conditions are right. If not, Haulover south is a pleasant beach.

We'll be there in March also. It's quite busy on island in March. For the north shore beaches, sometimes you have to just drive till you find one with a parking space.

We were at Columbo's earlier this month. They moved the whole stand to the left and up from its previous location. There's more parking now.

Southwest doesn't fly to STT. I am always on the lookout for good fares-I track with yapta.com or hipmunk.com or google flights. It has been very tough to get a good fare. If you can come and go during the week, fares can be a bit lower.

I've done the hike twice and it's wonderful, magical. The first time we did it (about 9 pm in December) the moon was so bright that we used our flashlights only when necessary. The second time (in July) we had to use our flashlights the whole way-the clouds were coming and going.
