Wow!
Thanks for the education... I was getting slightly concerned about the possibility of actual alien transport beams

Re: Three night villa rental??

Seems unlikely to me that a villa would do a 3 night rental in high season. IMO your best bet is to find a villa with those dates available in between someone's departure and the next renter's arrival and ask to fill those dates.

Curious how you liked being in Cruz Bay for a night since I know you are Coral Bay kind of people?

Love the view from Skyflower! Is that off Bourdeaux Mtn Rd?

Re: Getting close to choosing a villa...Wind chime or Perela

I have not been to either of those villas, but both look amazing. First, let me say I LOVE a screened porch for sitting out at night, so Perelandra gets a point in my book. But, it looks to me from the pictures that you can only access the lower bedroom from outside stairs, which is not the best whe...

Re: a little construction problem

What about the builder/construction crew? Will they face fines for actually being the ones who dug into the National Park land? Surely they know how to read blue prints.

Re: Need advice on choosing a villa for family vacation

Consider something like: http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/property/aqua-gem/
I've never stayed there, but it fits your description and budget. It's above the Westin, which is great to visit with kids (playground, parrots, iguana feedings).

Re: Dilemna!

I'm planning a 4 day trip, too. It's not ideal, but with kids and a school schedule 4 days is all I can manage until next spring break. If you are able to get direct flights at good times (maybe even one the night before and stay on STT or SJU?) than it may be worth it. If your first and last days w...

Re: Coming Back! Need Villa help

We loved Le Lapin II. Two bedrooms up, two down all with AC. The pool was big enough for kids to splash and swim with a great view and hammock. My only concern for you is that all bedroom doors are louvered, so sound carries and you may not feel you have enough privacy. Other than that, it was perfe...

Re: "St.john cottage"

I remember looking into this property before because, honestly, the price is good. If I remember my research correctly, I read that the bed was uncomfortable and there was not enough seating. Also, the map places the cottage north of Sunset Ridge Villas. When I toured that property, the view was nic...

Re: Anyone with advice on dealing with mental illness?

Thanks to all who responded here and privately. It definitely helps to know I'm not the only one who has dealt with this. The problem I have is how to maintain the parent-child relationship. It is hard for a child to ask questions like "Did you take your meds today, Dad?" Plus, he lives in...

Re: New record for Priority Mail

I have had similar success with flat rate priority boxes to St. John. I also used tracking and found it invaluable. The good thing is if it goes past 5 days, I believe they will refund your money. I had a situation where I mailed a package from Florida to Chicago. It went to Puerto Rico for two days...

Both are hilarious, though I hate to laugh at other's expense for fear that it may jinx me in my own travels.

Re: Summerwind Villa Review (June 2013)

We stayed further down that road on our first trip. I thought mid island would be "close to everything," but for our first trip we really didn't like the location, we felt far away from everything. But, many trips later maybe we should revisit that mid island location. We've been staying o...
