The Sadie Sea website quotes up to 37 people for a private charter. It is a large boat, but 37 would be too much!

They book other vessels as well. Connections is a good bet for booking as is the Westin activities desk.

Great trip report, sounds like a great time. We'll probably take a look at the Westin timeshares when we are there in November.

Say hey to the Roanoke hombrew club, if you know any Star City Brewers' Guild folks.

$100 per head

The $100 per head figure has worked well for us when the group is party-focused. When we go with my parents and the kids the number is lower because of the lower spend on beer and alcohol.

Sadie Sea

You can talk to the folks at Sadie Sea - http://www.sadiesea.com/. I would think a private charter would be better for a group that large. I've been on this boat on the way back from the NPS guided Reef Bay hikes and it is comfortable with plenty of shaded space. I've spoken to Ben before and he is ...

Thanks for the responses

Great responses, and I pickup the tension that I feel as well in the responses. We do tip the maid but have only tipped the greeter when they went beyond the call.

Villa First

We tend the book the villa a year out. Getting decent airfare is rather a stalk for us. For November, we got $450 rt out of Washington/Dulles about 5 months after we booked the villa. Over 24 people (we are bringing the full herd for Thankgiving) the savings were significant.

Beer Geek Responds

Last October 10 of us Beer Geeks were kept in beer/liquor and food for about $900 with only one dinner out. We usually plan for $100 per person per week. As geeky as I am, I kept the recipts so that we could split the expenses at the end of the week. Carib was $26.99 a case for bottles. Heineken run...

NH II vs. Smaller Power Boat

We've done a lot of different BVI trips. The New Horizon II was fun last year. One nice thing, over a power boat rental with a captain, is that NH II has a smooth and fast ride and covers a lot of territory. The power boats tend to do a good bit of up and down - and you don't want to spill that Mimo...

STT Snorkel Trips

When the North swell is up in the Fall I've seen the snorkel trips go around to the South side and anchor off of Ditleff Point. It's frustrating to hike into a beach and then get over run.

St. John Brewers' coverage in Providence Journal

The guys who created Virgin Islands Pale Ale received some favorable press in the Providence Journal http://www.shns.com/shns/scrippsnews/index.cfm?action=detail&pk=CRAFT-BEER-08-28-06 . There's mention of a brewpub in Cruz Bay. We don't have distribution of this beer in Northern Virginia, but w...

Tipping VIlla Rental Agents

Do you tip the villa rental agent? They do a good bit:
- meet you at the ferry dock
- help you find the car rental agency
- show you how to find your villa
- show you around the villa

I'm curious what the agents themselves expect?
