Topic: Is Budget on St Thomas really this much cheaper than St John

We've always rented vehicles on STJ for a number of reasons. The only advantage for us of renting on STT would be that it's cheaper. But as I balance the other pros and cons, it's really not a place where I'd want to cut costs. When we wanted to cut costs, we always looked to the accommodations. The...

Thanks jmq For me, a regular PSA test and digital exam aren't merely a good idea. I have a pretty high risk of getting prostate cancer so it would be reckless for me to not get tested. Definitely reckless, possibly irresponsible, crazy or suicidal. In addition to the risk factor for any man, both my...

Doesn't seem that these developers paid much attention to the community during their planning. They certainly don't seem to have any sense of what residents were thinking and, in some areas, don't seem to have done any homework at all. (I can't imagine that the VITRAN strategy didn't get lots of smi...

Boston has been pretty aggressive in regard to smoking. This latest action would regulate electronic cigarets which currently are not controlled. Smoking bans seem to have gotten established relatively easily in most places, but I was curious about a place like STJ. Seems to be an idea whose time ha...

How's the smoking ban playing out?

Boston is proposing stricter smoking regulations and it made me curious how the ban has played out on STJ. I don't recall any recent posts about it, so I imagine it's gone smoothly.

The Coral Bay Hotel issue

Predictably not everyone likes the idea:

The developers' view vs. the community's view.

I most enjoyed the ideas of bus travel, although there are a few pretty amusing ideas.

It's not really a question of A/C being necessary, but if it's necessary for you. As a general rule, I believe that anyone who thinks to ask about A/C should be sure to have A/C. We're fine with overhead fans. The couple of times that we had A/C we didn't use it. I like to be able to hear the night ...

Right, CG. The thread surprised me. Since the forum membership is pretty wide-reaching, I was expecting a good number of people who hadn't seen the ocean until they were adults. I so enjoyed talking with this couple on Cape Cod about what it was like for them that I was hoping for more.

As I google the places that loria mentions, I start wondering why I haven't been back to Thailand. Years ago I spent a few weeks on Ko Samet in the Gulf of Thailand. That remains my favorite tropical vacation. Maggy--- Where have you been in Thailand? I remember your Maldives trip report. After seei...

Let me clarify: Muhaha is the name of a forum member, not a place. Muhaha posted a while ago that he was going to Langkawi. The post is addressing Muhaha and asking if he went.

Muhaha, Langkawai?

The place has stuck in my head. I wondered if you ever got there?

I also find myself thinking of the Perhentian Islands and the Maldives.

This summer we've been to Cape Cod and south Jersey. Both are nice, neither is exotic.

The only way I make any arrangements in the Caribbean is by calling people up on the telephone and talking to them directly. This approach may make more sense once you see the Cool Breeze office. People have a different lifestyle on STJ and do business differently. I never bother with faxes, emails ...
