I looked over my bill again and basically the major portion of the bill was roaming which cost $111. They didn't break down the minutes, etc. - a few text messages were sent but the majority of the minutes were used for calls. If you leave your phone on and it says "roaming" but do not cal...

"According to the Verizon Wireless web site – The USVI is treated as international service with a $0.69 per/min roaming charge." -------- Thanks FlaGeorge, that would explain it! I will have to look at my bill again and see how many calls I actually made. Funny thing is half the time I was...

Cell Phone Bill

Usually my cell phone bill (I use Verizon Wireless) is $49 a month. Well I used my phone while I was in St. John last month (worked fine by the way) and I knew it was going to cost a lot because it was on 'roaming'. However I just got my bill - $177! Yikes! Just thought I would post this for any fut...

Great trip report! Enjoy your pictures as well! That airport story sounds just awful. If you don't mind me asking which airline was it?

Thank you again for the terrific report!

Yes Scotts Beach is for adults only. We just returned from Caneel and technically the Caneel Bay Beach (the main beach near the lobby) is the public beach. However the other beaches can be used but cannot be accessed through the grounds - meaning if you came by, by boat/dingy you can. I guess they m...

I just recently flew out of San Juan to St. Thomas using Cape Air. Once we landed into San Juan we went to the Cape Air ticket counter, checked in and waited about a half hour or so for our flight. I think there was a total of 10 of us on board (including the pilot). The flight was pretty smooth wit...

Its a shame that the Simple Feast is now closed. It was our go to place for breakfast last year when we were staying at the Westin. Even if you go to the Mango Deli at the Westin and get two bagels with cream cheese, a small bottle of water and 2 coffees it will run you $13! I would suggest grabbing...

We were there last March and had a great time. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and took a smaller plane into Key West. Kind of like going to St. Thomas from Puerto Rico! We stayed at the Gardens Hotel. It was right off the main area of Duval but you felt miles away when you were there. Definitely check ...

Thanks! I am not sure which was more scary, going on that cape air flight or seeing that big fish near Paradise Beach at Caneel. After looking online I think that it was a tarpon fish!

October 13-21, 2006 Trip Report

Let me first start off by saying when we got to Continental we had to check in through Domestic! My husband and I returned to St. John for our 3rd time, however this time we had friends getting married at the Westin. We decided to extend our invitation and make a vacation out of it. We stayed at the...

Here is an update. I called Continental this morning and asked them. The representative then asked me if we are connecting in Puerto Rico or flying straight through to St. Thomas. I told her that we were connecting. Then she said that technically if we are connecting in Puerto Rico we can go to the ...
