Stayed at Hale Lani this past December. Awesome views and location. Quiet, clean, private, and well-equipped. Not major stuff, but some things showing some wear and in need of attention- kitchen counter wooden edge treatment worn, one of the ceiling fans barely turned, a couple light fixtures not fu...

We bought containers of Deli Grotto's excellent chicken/ tuna/ turkey / etc. salads and a couple loaves of their awesome homemade bread and made our own sandwiches. Their muffins are great too- big enough to share.

They really need to address the taxi issue and the loitering drivers next to the passenger ferry docks- a real hodge-podge mess which gives first time STJ visitors ...

New cyclone fence at Franklin Powell park?!?!?!

What's up with the cyclone fence they're installing at Franklin Powell Park? Hopefully this is just temporary during the park's re-construction, although it looks permanent and horrible. :(

No See Um's Blog has a photo.

Maho (beach) update - new parking lot, stingrays, etc.

Greetings from STJ! Spent a chunk of our afternoon on the beach at Maho yesterday (Monday.) NPS has started clearing brush and trees for the new parking lot across from the beach on the corner.
