I loved reading your report - so descriptive I felt like I was there with you! We have not tried Oasis nor Indigo grill but hope to this November.

Stewdog - we were on island that same time back in 2003. You are correct, you'll never forget that time! There were 12 of us I believe and we made the best of it - umbrellas and all!

It would be a great time to be on STJ. Not sure where you are staying but just sitting outside with a drink in your hand watching the moon and stars would be wonderful! I know some of the bars in the Cruz Bay area will advertise some special events during a full moon.

It appears there are a couple on VRBO - Palmy Daze and Far Horizons. I'd check with some of the mangement companies to see what is available.

Take a look at the Palm terrace condos thou Destination St John or google Bougainvillea villa, Blue Coral or Tropical Blessings. These are 3 bedroom/3 baths but very nice and easily walkable to town. I believe the low season rates are within your budget.

What did you end up paying? I always start my packing list - review it, add and take off items. I also like to have a big list of items that we can do, see, where to eat/drink at while on island. Then when on island - you can review each morning or evening for the next days potential activities.

Francis might also be a good choice.

I just read the article - will miss going to Vie's and talking with her and her family. She was always very nice and loved the way she kept the beach up with chairs, etc. Her parking lot had beautiful bougainvillea bushes with brilliant flowers!

Where is Skippers? Is it on St. John or another island you visited? I have never heard of it!

We really enjoy Cruz Bay Landing, Roma's and Banana Deck. On vacation we typically are not into eating a big meal every night and typically are good with some nice appetizers. What type of dining are you looking for?

You might be able to get a private water taxi. I would be too stressed - in my opinion you need to stay the last night on St. Thomas. As previous poster said, much calmer way to end your trip.
