Re: Our beloved STJ needs your help. Please donate.

I have come across the post from St. John Rescue stating that they need the money that GoFundMe has raised for them "now" to get search and rescue teams and supplies down. Apparently, it takes some time (I don't know generally how long) for GoFundMe to release the money. They are pleading ...

Re: Post-Irma news

Anthony, according to Skinny's official FB page: "There's a lot of mis information floating around on FB - we just got word that Skinny's is still there!! From an eye witness! We have work to do for sure - but we'll be back!!" I hope this is true... These are uncertain times, understandabl...

Re: Palm Villa

I'm sorry that you had to cancel. Next year is not too far away. You will be back on St. John before you know it.

Wishing you well. Take good care of yourself, Sherry.

Re: Seawing Villa?

My husband and I stayed at Seawing last year. The property has a nice cottage feel to it. We have stayed at larger houses over the years - and although we enjoyed them all (some more than the others), we generally feel more comfortable with a cottage type property. It's just the two of us and we don...

Re: Oh the changes in St. John from 8 years ago...

I'm sorry to hear you didn't find the peace that you were looking for. Compared to Exit Zero, we are newbies :) - but we've been visiting St. John annually (well, until this year) for 15+ years. While it's easy to say changes are inevitable, when you see them happen to places that you hold dear to y...

Hmm, I just tried by using "Upload attachment" and it works with my (elderly) Mac. Hmmm, I think I may go to my kitchen (bar).

Re: been a while!

Upload your photos to a photo-hosting site. I've never used Google Photos or TinyPic. I use Flickr - I copy the BBCode of the photo that I want to post and paste it into the forum. This seems to be another way (doesn't require the use of photo-hosting site) but I have never personally tried it: http...

Re: Recent issues

I could not load the forum page using Firefox for the past few days. It loaded a blank page with a message saying something like "invalid site". Sorry I didn't report that to you because when I used Safari I had no problem reading the forum. I'm posting this via Firefox, so the issue seems...

Re: been a while!

Thank you for the real time report, surfnh. This year is the first in 15 years that we won't be on St. John in May/June, which hasn't been easier to deal with than I had hoped. My inner clock is telling me to be on island but I am not. Wishing you all a wonderful time on St. John. Hope you will get ...

Re: STJ Trip Report Part 1: Ya gotta roll with it…

What a start to your vacation, jmq - but I love the sweet ending of your long travel day. Happy Birthday to you! I agree, it is a drag to take backup cameras, bulky underwater housings and other accessories... but, as far as cameras go, my fear for risking not having a working camera on St. John alw...

I also appreciate your info about Estate Zootenvaal. I had always wondered about them. Did you try snorkeling the area in front of Zootenvaal while you stayed there? I don't know if it offers nice snorkeling or not.

Thank you for your report. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Re: 10 more days in paradise--the full report

Happy to see and read your report, Becky! What is your overall impression of Ocean 362 and Terrace? We usually pick a couple of fine dining spots per trip. Since ZoZo's is our favorite, it doesn't leave much room for other spots and we haven't gotten around to trying Ocean 362 or Terrace. I don't kn...

Re: trip report feb. 28-march10

I never knew about the tour buses from Westin that go to Skinny Legs. I guess I've failed to pay attention... or do you think that is a high-season thing? We only visit St. John in off-season. Your battery-downed rooster made me giggle. I could almost hear him (trying). Thank you for your trip report!

Re: Been away A LONG time! But coming back 'home!'

I second iheartsj, St. John seems busier and the beaches are more crowded now. I know of some used-to-be regular visitors who have steered away from the island for that reason. As for us, our admiration for St. John hasn't changed and we still visit the island annually - often twice a year. The funn...
