Re: St. John newbie groceries question
Here is just a reminder about going out for dinner. It gets dark early on island. So if you are not comfortable driving on the left on narrow windy roads, eat that meal in. That's what we've done. Breakfast in, lunch out, dinner in. Grilling a meat with a salad or grilled vegies is all we need for ...

Oh kgolden, I really appreciate the tip on connections. I just looked them up and that service sounds perfect. I can send a bunch of dry goods and pick them up when we get there! Brilliant! Thank you again for the great tip... http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;10765;483/st/20130109/e/First+St...

Re: St. John newbie groceries question
Thank you Lindy for your reply! I know you're right about the clothes, no matter where I go I bring more clothes than I need, so I will heed your advice and pass it on to family. There are 5 of us going, a couple and my husband, 21 year old daughter, and me. We will most likely split up for daily ou...

St. John newbie groceries question
Hello everyone, I so enjoy this forum, it really helps me out with planning! I have read that people take food with them from home? I was only going to take carry on luggage, but would you suggest checking in a bag filled with groceries? Is food expensive enough to spend 70.00 on checking a bag? I i...

Re: Private taxi from STT to Red Hook Ferry
Wow, I don't know who Rachel is but she's popular! I contacted Judith from Wheatley taxi service for a private transfer. They are suppose to have my name on a card by the luggage area. I've never done that before so I hope it works out! The private water taxi is interesting too...but this time we'll...

Re: What's up with ticket prices?
This was an interesting post so I thought I would also include my ticket prices. We are flying from Kansas city, no non- stop flights available, to Atlanta and Atlanta to STT. I watched delta prices daily and grabbed them when they went down to 582.40 pp. That's the best price so far this year.

Re: Villa price went down..do I ask for the discount?
While i can understand that the discount is for new bookings, I still think they should do something for you. How about asking them for a dinner voucher? Groceries? Cooler of beer, rum, soda? I think they should do something because they have had your money to spend/invest as they wish for a few mon...
