Thanks all! Good ideas! Except maybe hitching. Not sure I want to teach my kid how to do that!
And 54b, love your Arch pictorial. Made me anticipate this trip even more!

Cruz Bay w/ no car ideas?

We are crazy excited about our trip! We already have on our list the hike to Solomon/Honeymoon. Does anyone have other ideas for carless adventures from Cruz Bay? We will have a rental later when the rest of the fam joins us and we move to Coral Bay for a week.

Thanks for your time!

Thanx people and good point Pia! They are 13 and 17, and will share a room with two beds if that's all we can find. Our budget is a little like limbo: how low can we go? No offense to STJ and all of us who love it, but I am a little over the fact that a one week sleep somewhere costs the same as the...

Wow! Your TR is so good! I thought we'd seen the manta because I wasn't exactly sure what they look like but nope we saw a really big eagle ray. That manta is too cool! Every time we visit we see something more and more interesting in the water but I swear, to keep up with you forum people we are go...

I feel you on the Spice Cam blues! When we do have a trip booked I use the spice cam as a nonsensical superstition: if it's raining on the cam we will have rain on our trip. Silly, I know. If we have no trip booked I still look, which I shouldn't because next thing you know I am googling all sorts o...

Machineel, mango, century?

hi! I am off crutches finally, have SO enjoyed everyone's TRs of late, and am getting psyched for our trip. Can anyone suggest a hike or hikes where we can see a machineel tree, possibly pick a mango (if that's not a no no), and see the century tree (plant?). Thanks!

Oh my goodness, thank you all for the good advice and encouragement! Feeling like I should've put this in OT  but I really appreciate it! My "prehab," to get my leg straight b4 surgery consists of laying on tummy, both legs off the bed at mid thigh, and the wrecked one trying it's be...

Dog attack, torn ACL, and St. John

I was walking my dog one evening last week when another dog raced out of some people's house and tried to kill my sweet border collie. Up side, she's fine (she can hold her own, believe me). Down side, my ACL is torn from when they careened into me and I went down like a disastrous horse at a steepl...
