Re: Airfare

Do most of you book your villas first and then watch for airfare deals or do you try to coordinate booking it all at once? We booked our villa's first...awhile ago.... Then kept an eye out for good flight prices... It would have been better to find something from our area for that price, but having...

Hi jdw, I'm Suz's husband and I just wanted to expand a little on her response to you. One of the nice things about the lower deck at La Papaya is the privacy and the shade. The Palm trees and flowering vines and bushes envelope you, creating your own little tropical garden. If you are staying in th...

Hi Philbetm, take a look at La Papaya which is also run by Destination St. John. It has the 3 equal bedrooms that you are looking for. One bedroom on either side of the great room and one bedroom on the lower level. There is the small apartment with a kitchen on the lower level, which can be used by...

When we left yost, we had to pay a $5.00 Brisish Virgin Island Passenger Tax (Departures by Sea). It is the Passenger Tax Ordinance Cap 191 as amended. I had ticket number: 1225026. So, when you leave by ferry you're going to have to pay. :D

After hitting the food festival, we decided to go over to the Beach Bar and have dinner and drinks. While we were waiting to be served, two young couples were leaving and one gentleman was giving his girlfriend a piggy-back ride out of the Beach Bar and said to her "say something memorable"...

While window shopping at Starfish Gourmet, I seem to remember the Cruzan being $9.99, or that price could have been from Lily's Market in Coral Bay, not sure which one seeing as we had already made a purchase on St. Thomas.

We shopped at the Food Center on St. Thomas before we hit the car ferry and a 750ml of Aged Cruzan Rum was $7.99. :D At home, the same bottle is $18.00. :(

Puddle, only 4 people, but I am 6' 5" tall and wanted to make sure the new Grand Vitara is big enough for me. :D I heard they used to be small until a couple of years ago, when they upgraded the vehicle and made it larger.

Dependable Car Rental

Has anyone rented a Suzuki Grand Vitara from Dependable on St. Thomas? If so, was it comfortable, did you have a lot of room. Did it handle the switch-backs easily? Thanks.

My pet peeve is when people say, St. Johns, after I say St. John because they think I'm not saying it right. They say, "where ya goin' on vacation?" I say, "St. John in the Virgin Islands" just to make sure they don't think St. Johns, Antigua. Then they say, "Oh St. Johns i...

It's Maho, Maho, Maho for us. It always seems calm and sunny when we are there. 8) There is shade from the Grape leaf trees and it is an easy snorkel on the right side of the beach. Being fair-skinned myself, I just have to keep re-applying as the day goes on. Bringing a baseball cap that you don't ...
