Re: Hikes and ruins

I always suggest doing Reef Bay unescorted, and nice and early before anyone else is there. It's so lovely. That hiking in a crowd thing just isn't for me.

Re: Best Romantic restaurant on the island?

Here's my take on Zozo's: I love it there. Great food, wonderful service. But --- having eaten at the bar for sunset twice, I would choose an upstairs table near the rail instead. The sun at the bar is really a killer for me. It is super hot and so bright you need to put on your sunglasses. When I'm...

Is that $3000/week in season or off season (usually after April 15)?

Re: To bring or not to bring your pet dogs to St. John

Here's a couple of other problems - the terrain is dangerous, many decks have big drop offs (and small dogs could squeeze under or between railings) and there's no place safe to walk them because the roads are scary... I love my dog and he is perfectly behaved, but St. John is about the last place I...

Re: Looking for Beachvilla for Parental leave 100USD?

As much as I love St John, I do not think it is a great choice for an extended stay with an infant, primarily because you will not be staying right on the beach. So, whenever you want to go to the beach it involves packing up a rental car (which will cost you a lot of money for an extended trip!), a...

Re: Suggestions needed - Coral Bay villa with a WARM pool

Thanks for the replies. We've stayed on the same "street" as Casa Buena (at Summer Wind) twice, and would prefer to stay down off the mountain a little next time. THANKS AGAIN!

Suggestions needed - Coral Bay villa with a WARM pool

Just wondered if anybody can suggest a luxury villa in or near Coral Bay that doesn't have a freezing pool? This would be for off season (late April), there are only two of us, we'd like to keep the rate under $6000/week (off season rate). THANKS!

I think I'll look into a one way puddle jumper. $500 sounds like a lot though. Do you remember who the charter company was? THANK YOU!!!

Re: Adding Anegada to a St. John trip

Thanks Charlie! I''m not too worried about the travel time. We'll be there for 11 days and we'll just make it part of the adventure. lol. I just really want to spend some time on Anegada, but I can't imagine going down there and not swinging by St. John for at least a few days. I have friends who us...

Adding Anegada to a St. John trip

We'd like to add on Anegada (BVI) to our spring St. John trip. Has anybody done this? The ferry schedule seems a little daunting. I'm thinking we'd fly into St Thomas, then ferry to Tortola, spend the night, then ferry to Anegada for a few days. On the return, we'll ferry from Anegada to Tortola and...

Here's my solution to the liquids problem: I buy sunscreen and a bottle of cheap shampoo there. The villa water is so soft that I have never needed conditioner! Also, it's so casual that I don't wear make-up there, or use hair spray, perfume, etc. I pack a 3 oz thing of contact lens solution and a s...
