I agree with everything Rick said except the part of washing the towells, or any other linens for that matter, as those items are done by the cleaning service with water not being taken from the villa's cistern. We are super careful about water usage, even to the point of washing dishes in a pan and...

Maybe Pia or STJ Ruth knows the name

If you were right in front of the airport, look to the far left end of the parking lot away, from the main terminal and you will see a little noticed West Indian stand. It has a woman's name that I can't remember but the pate and rotti is very good, cheap and they also sell Carib and other tasty beve...

I've been to both several times, rarely seeing anyone else, though there are a couple of villas bordering Kiddle. Bugs can be a problem on both beaches, the drive into Grootpan will almost certainly scratch up your rental vehicle, both beaches are rocky with no sand. Grootpan is also an important tu...

We pretty much always pick up hitchhikers on STJ. Never had even a remotely bad experience, however two years ago a couple of guys hitched a ride from Coral Bay, going to Cruz Bay, got picked up by some guys in a pickup truck, got half way there and and they stopped the truck and beat the guys half ...

On the Coral Bay side you have Love City Mini-mart and Lilly's Deli at the Cocolobo Center. Both will surprise you on selection and price, though neither can come close to Starfish for selection. There is another market near Callabash Boom, but last year they were poorly stocked.

We didn't have ac the first couple of trips to STJ, but it was never a factor in May staying at the top of Ajax Peak. Even if the villa had ac we wouldn't have used it, as we preferred the island sounds. However last year we went for 3 weeks in late May to mid June, stayed around Calabash Boom and f...

In Coral Bay, Windspree is usually very accommodating. Call Karen or Kay and explain what you're looking for. I've also found VIVA to be great also.

A couple of years back, due to a holiday, we hit horrible trafic from the airport to the CA ferry and just as we pulled up saw the ferry pulling out. We had to call Windspree and tell them we missed the ferry. When we caught the next boat, Karen was waiting at the dock and after getting our car took...

I thought,Steph A:you were more then a little harsh on Ronnie. For one non- response to an e-mail to get trashed was pretty rough, especially when he was so highly recommended. OK,Anthony,What'd you do with Lex?

Anthony some of the long time forum regulars seem to be MIA. Lex is just the first one to come to mind as his astute and sensitive posts, and memories, were virtually a daily contribution to the board. Though I personally miss the old format, we all appreciate all of your efforts, and a curse on the...

It was good to see a review of Sweet Plaintains in Coral Bay. We ate roti there last year when some local friends took us out for dinner as a payback for a favor. The place has great food and service and my wife says they have the nicest, cleanest restroom in Coral Bay!

Personally I've found the new format to be quite a bit less user friendly and also cumberson to view the threads. Just my HO.
