We hiked down and back up with our kids. It is a tough hike for sure but we loved it and plan to do it again. My 8 year old did fine, but she's a little athlete! I would NOT recommend taking a 5 year old. She did fine all the way down, but rode on her Daddy's shoulder's ALL the way back up. Try hiki...

we are also bringing spices, protein bars, and pasta. Also plan to bring some cheese and frozen berries for smoothies. We plan to check our bag and hope for the best! Also hoping the last guests in the villa left a few goodies.

Ditto Carolyn. I have been fortunate enough to not need medical help during our many trips on island, but have heard good things. I have had 2 kids and travelled a bunch during both pregnancies, including internationally, and 4 1/2 months is an IDEAL time to travel assuming no known risk factors. It...

Wow- thanks to everyone so much! I am definitely getting a Polar Bear cooler- I had not heard of those before and they look fantastic! There are 7 of us going so we'll definitely have enough need to bring some things. We usually do most of our shopping on island when there's just a few of us, but we...

Thanks for the advice! So is it better to carry it on rather than check the cooler? Wasn't sure what airport security would think of that. Never thought about the insulated bags or a hard cooler for the beach- great ideas!

Bringing frozen meat on a plane?

Help! I need advice on bringing frozen meat on a plane for our trip. Have been to STJ several times, but this is our first attempt at packing a cooler to help save money. Any advice on the best way to do it? Am thinking of a styrofoam cooler that we can leave, wrapped well for the trip. Coming from ...

I would love more info on the private water taxis! We are going at the end of February. Only have 7 people, but 2 of them are my parents and I would love to make things easier on them, and not have to worry about getting on the ferry on our return to catch our flight home (sigh). Can ya'll give some...
