Re: Caneel Public Beach - Public Unwelcome
Things will not change with new management, because it is SAME management, and SAME group of owners from NYC and CT. Rosewood was their Marketing and Brand only. The owners are losing money at Caneel and the feedback from guests is their biggest concern. When a guest is paying $800. a night on Big C...

I second what Tracy said about Les Otis and his wife Dianne Otis of St John Properties 340-642-5752 . Give them a call and they can put you on their weekly mailings for new properties on the market and sold properties. It is a good way to educate yourself about the island and real estate. We purchas...

Re: A special Forumite
Tracy is an angel on earth!!! Tracy quietly donates her time to many organizations and gives back whenever she can! I honestly have never met anyone as humble and selfless as Tracy. I have told her this before and I will say it again, "I aspire to be as kind and charitable as you Tracy" Ji...

Re: Lemon trees on island?
Yes you can grow lemon tree's on St John. They will grow either in the ground or pots. We use a nursery in St Thomas, that sells all different types of fruit tree's and they will get you whatever they don't have on special order. They are ABC Nursery, Cliff is the owner and Betty is at the nursery m...

In my opinion snorkeling is a must for the full experience of St John. I vacationed here for 25 years and now call St John home. I have taught many people to swim and snorkel. My first suggestion to you would be buy a dry snorkel, I have rented fins and masks on vacations, but I always bring my dry ...

Pia is away from the forum this week, but when she comes back next Sunday I am sure she can provide you with all the information. Pia has booked numerous fishing trips for my husband and they always bring back enough fish to freeze and give away to friends. He is not home right now or I would ask hi...

Yes, still the same bar, black sand and shells. Nice article in the Tradewinds this week. http://www.stjohntradewindsnews.com/ It is nice to have a reasonably priced restaurant that is casual and not just burgers and fried food on the island.

This article below is what peaked my interest in retiring to St John. I think it can be done very affordably and still be part of the USA. http://www.stjohnsuntimes.com/alternative_housing The Greathouses built an adorable cottage and are living the dream. Les Otis and Pia of St John Propertie's wer...
