The snorkeling raft sounds like fun and worth a try. When our son was 4, he wanted to try snorkeling by wearing a mask and hanging across a raft. He announced, before he put his head in the water, that he wanted to see Squidward. I warned him that he might not see a squid on his first try. Low and b...

Connie, if you're looking for an "almost unknown comedy," try Ruggles of Red Gap. 1935 with Charles Laughton. He gives a terrific performance and you will laugh. Although not a comedy, another classic which I adore is Notorious with Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant. Such splendid acting.

Orion's Hill on Ajax? http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/property/orions-hill/ Haven't stayed there but it's a terrific location and the views seem amazing. You are good at this! X -- It's pathetic, isn't it? I need to live vicariously through others until we manage to return. By the way, have you...

Take a look at Skyridge on Upper Carolina. http://stjohnhouserentals.com/Skyridge.htm It's a gem, in my opinion. The views over Sir Francis Drake Channel in the front and Bordeaux in the back, the privacy, the sheer comfort of the house (including the outdoor showers), are all wonderful. Plus this h...

The ladders at Satinwood are permanent, as I remember. You would need to cover them with a sheet or something. Hope this helps. You might also take a look at Notre Ciel. notreciel.com The pool and hot tub are completely separate from the house. The house is very comfortable with the two bedrooms on ...

We've stayed at Satinwood twice and really like it. It's a spacious, comfortable house with magnificent views. (We have three kids.) We love the location, too -- high above Coral Bay. We've gone in August and even then, because of the trade winds and ceiling fans, we never needed air conditioning. T...

I agree about contacting Windspree. You could call or just hop in your car and stop by their office, which is across from Skinny Legs. Good folks there.

And good luck. Remember, it's all an adventure. Breathe.

We rented from Hospitality a few years ago, and it was more than fine. The owner (I'm assuming it's still the same) is Thomas, I think, and he was, as the name of his service -- hospitable. He also runs the smoothie stand across from the post office. Assuming nothing has changed, you can pick up you...

Take a look at Satinwood at satinwood-usvi.com. We also like Skyridge -- I think it's listed with bookitvi.com. Our friends really liked Casa Luna next door.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll find something.

Lex, My husband and I are sitting here, and we'll try to answer all your questions one by one. It's a lazy Sunday afternoon, and we're happy to go back, if just in our minds. Snorkeling off the beach -- We're avid snorkelers, so snorkeling off the beach is very important to us. Yes, there is accessi...

We spent 10 days in Culebra two summers ago. We loved it. I was worried that I would spend the time longing for St. John, but it really was a great adventure to discover a new place. We stayed in a house high up with a beautiful view and great breezes. Our routine evolved into getting up early in th...
