Re: Cruz bay landing
Just giving this a bump.....went there last night with the family....a very good addition to Cruz Bay. Food was very solid all around, drinks were good and the service was excellent. Everyone happy, keen to help and intent on making it work. It's a versatile place where you can sit at the bar outsid...

Re: Where to go on a day charter
We are going out with Capt John next week and I was just putting together a list of places we might want to hit. My boys are 6.5 and 3.5 but I would like to try and get them in the water and snorkeling. And if not snorkeling, at least find a calm place for them to jump in. Perhaps consider some of ...

Re: Polor Bear Coolers on Sale
Just giving a BIG PLUS ONE for these.....If you have run out of gift ideas for people, these are great options, especially when personalized. We have the 12pk and the 24pk and use them for STJ, for vacations, for fishing, tailgating, etc. (basically for anything fun). They are a bit pricey so we alw...

Re: High season advice for babymoon!
Ahhh the BabyMoon on STJ - I have fond memories. No place better for it. Of course, there's no place better for any type of holiday. My wife still reminds me of our day at Salt Pond with no other spots on the beach other than under a prickly tree with red ants swarming and then the hike back to the ...

Re: JFK airport to STT
I live on Long Island and take that flight frequently. The hotels in the area of the airport are in not so nice areas. I would suggest driving about 15 min past the airport to Lynbrook. Look into Holiday Inn Express, Lynbrook. getting back to the airport early the day of the flight will literally t...

Re: Charter with kids (3-year-old)?
I'll put in another vote for Capt. Phil and the Wayward Sailor. We did a half day charter this past December with our 5.5 yo and 2.5 yo and they had a great time.
Capt Phil is great with kids - so is his mate Tarn (sp?). Not sure I would try a full day just yet, that would be a long day.

dang, NOW I want to go in June. Thanks for the responses. We primarily go in high season (Feb/March) but have been in December, Jan - Apr as well as June - which was our first trip. June is a great time to go. Mostly because there is never a bad time to go to St John. But also, its less crowded tha...

If you are not terribly picky and have your heart set on one specific place (and you're a bit of a gambler at heart), I would wait it out. I've found, when looking for these things, you will always find something available and indeed on sale. It may not be in the exact location you want or have all ...
