Best day to head over to JVD on the ferry?

Greetings Will be on island in a few weeks. Considering a day trip over to Jost on the ferry. Is there a day that is typically less crowded than others? i.e. is Monday or some other day a relatively "slow" day? Or are all bets off because its high/spring break season? If none of that reall...

Re: 2 hours in Charlotte Amalie

Another thumbs up on Gladys Cafe. We are looking forward to a stop there on the way back in April as our flight departs after 4pm.
Best conch fritters in the VIs - goes good with a splash of the house made hot sauces.

Re: Trip Report Jan 6-Jan 22 - It's better in the VIs

Nice! thanks for sharing. We may have to look at the "Spanish Virgin". How would you characterize the main town? Does it have any charm, and enough fun bars and decent eats? Comparable to any towns in the USVIs/BVIs? And any impressions about accommodations and getting about for landlubber...

Re: Back to St. John?

Haha Becky does this mean that next time we go we should try to roll like you guys usually do which includes making some great meals in a comfortable villa with killer views? I might be up for that, but it would be a tough sell with the girls...

Back to St. John?

Greetings Began last October/November planning a trip this year to celebrate 60th birthday (yikes) that happens to fall on peak $$$ time the week before Easter. My 24 yr old daughter will also be off that week and we want her to come too. Originally considered Key West for 4-5 nights of birthday she...

Thanks Loria but Tripadvisor seems to indicate that Ronnies has seen better days, so was wondering if anybody here has had recent experience there, or, at the airport hotels...

Best options staying 1 night on STT in-bound to STJ?

Greetings What are some of the best current options for flying in a day early staying 1 night on STT before heading onto ferry the next morning over to St John? Considering also that we might need some eats on site or nearby with minimal fuss...those places near the airport, or someplace in town? No...

Re: Arrived Today 10/11- Rip Tide Warning - What Beaches to

If you’re not use to dealing with it, even a 3 foot surf break in knee deep water can knock the crap out of you. And, it’s more likely they are actually warning of a rip current, not a rip tide. http://www.surfertoday.com/surfing/11282-the-differences-between-rip-currents-undertows-and-rip-tides A r...

Re: photo and camera tips

Great tips from Pickle. Some others to consider if you haven't already: - don't use flash. It will light up particulates closest to the camera. Know how to shut it off. - get better at shooting at arms length to help get closer - pan moving critters - shoot at angles other than down - use a large me...

First off, thank you Anthony for running the site for all these years, and I am glad I had the pleasure of meeting you in Florence in 2011. Maybe we should meet again in Jersey some time LOL It’s funny how one of these wistful posts pops up every so often, and there are many many reasons this forum ...
