L&L is good. $50 extra for weekly parking in their paid lot.

Re: We’re coming back!

Bill, we'll see you in November. I've looked at, but not stayed, at Ciellodonna. I like the setting and it gets full sun most of the day. Nice thing is that it does not get a super early sunrise, so maybe the kids will sleep until 7! Lots of deck space.

Re: Ajax/Mamey Peak- Notre Ciel?

We've never seen the house, but know the location. Centerline Road goes below it. I expect you might hear the occasional water truck, but not much else. I like the location. The pool would be warmer than Coral Bay pools with more sun time in the afternoon. Best thing, you can see our sailboat from t...

We'll still be here through the end of May. TracyinWI has https://grandebaystj.com/ and we are converted GrandeBay fans. She also has her lower unit at Into The Mystic renting in Coral Bay - https://intothemysticvi.com/. Other friends have their lower unit Banana Sweet that is very nice - https://ww...

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Coral Bay. We had nine COVID tested people sharing a potluck since there was no Thankspigging this year. Eight of us all met on the forum and now live here! I know that VIOL is not busy since Facebook emerged. But, the forum still has a big influence on St. John. B...

A lot. You can visit the great offshore snorkeling spots like Eagle Shoal and Christmas Cove and the Cays between St. Thomas and St. John. During season you can visit Pizza Pi and Lime Out. Bikinis at Honeymoon Beach is open. You can head down to Water Island and visit Honeymoon Beach and Dinghy's B...

It's been years since I've seen the place. It's a great setting on a challenging road; though John Head Road has been improved recently.

Re: Avis car rental

The Seabourne location is across from the Windward Passage, long ago a former Holiday Inn. They have an Avis satellite there and I have dropped of cars there with a convenience fee. If you're flying into STT, you may want to rethink your approach.

I've not had any problems with Avis. I usually book the cheapest vehicle they have and end up with a Ford Explorer.

Re: 17 days in St John

It was blowing like stink. I saw a 47 knot gust on our wind meter on the boat in Coral Bay. Friends up Gerda Marsh Road saw a gust in the high 50s. The North Swell was high too with Park beaches closed and Maho Beach road inundated.

Good week for hiking!
