You wouldn't have seen them. It was quite hush hush. Although they traveled commercially, they were picked up on the tarmac and put back on the plane without the usual process. Pays to be popular and have the right connections.

The Tortola ferries do check your luggage for you even hours before, and you can go to town, upstairs, or Frenchtown if you have time. They do this daily.
