Re: VRBO has initiated their new service fee

Kevin, are you saying that you suspect VRBO will be adding services for me, the renter, to justify this "fee". What exactly could that be that would entice me? We are due to travel down in May. Because of a lost job and the time it took to recover from that we have not been to STJ since 20...

Re: Check in at airport – AA rules and customs changes?

Greetings all I think I saw here about American Airlines stricter check in rules and changes to customs process. What is the AA requirement? 1 ½ hours? Those that have been through it using AA – how does it work if you are not checking bags and have your boarding pass already printed (do they still...

Re: VRBO / HomeAway acquired for $3.6B

So this may be an inappropriate question but...

We are looking at a VRBO property for late 2016. If we were to book before the 6% were to go in to effect, would we avoid that?
This is a non STJ vacation.

Re: New 12.5% Hotel Tax on Existing Reservations

I knew this was coming but did not know the date. Knowing now that it is 1/1 I fully expect to pay the increased tax. Happened with our wedding almost 10 years ago. NJ State tax went from 6% to 7.5%. Talk about a tough pill to swallow on our wedding tab. Yikes! But 10 years past I just remember it w...

Re: 18 more days in paradise, part one

$96? Wow, that price went up. When we were there in 2013 is was $79 for the bottle which was a steal.
Last time I purchased it around here I think I paid $72 or $74.

Re: 18 more days in paradise, part one

Please note my very important question:
Are you saying they are no longer pouring Tignanello by the glass? Not that I am complaining. Last time there, at the old location, I regretted not getting the bottle. The price was pretty reasonable compared to what I get it for at home.

I recently saw on their website that they are still taking bar reservations for dinner. Has anyone done that?

Re: JFK to STT

Sheraton JFK wasn't bad and they had a park and fly rate.
The only bad part is the return. You have to take the train to the hotel pick up area. I hate hauling the luggage around so I usually get the car and circle back to pick up luggage and husband at the terminal.

Re: Whew....I feel better already!

Congrats, MB. Glad to see you back. I hover here from time to time - next trip is this coming June. I cannot wait. Didn't you stay in Ambiance once? I think that convinced us to stay there about 8 years ago, and we are staying there for a second time this June. I never stayed at Ambiance, Ken, but ...

Re: Whew....I feel better already!

Thank you for saying so.
If photos could pay the bills I would be very happy.
Alas, I am back to the daily grind of BS!

I learned, while unemployed, that if I could afford it I would be perfectly content not working!
