Re: Very Sad Times
Sorry to hear that!
I wanted to visit STJ for years, but as a single dad I couldn't afford it. Years later when the kids were grown and I had remarried, we began visiting the Island.
Hang in there! Time has a way of fixing things.

Re: Centerline Road
We had the same situation exactly 5 years ago. They did make quick repairs and there were flagmen allowing alternating one way traffic through the affected area. This time looks a little worse.

Re: Converting from STT to STJ
Everyone will have there own opinion. For us it would be Gallows Point in Cruz Bay. If one of us doesn't feel like driving to a beach, those who want to snorkel can still do so from their water access. Easy walk into town for food and people watching, etc....

Re: Leinester Parking?
We were able to drive down to the old bridge this past September. I would only attempt it in a Jeep. The area around the bridge does look eroded, but it has been that exact same way the last 3 times we have been there, It looks unstable, but is solid. You would need to go early and be comfortable dr...

Re: Aging parents
This is one of the toughest decisions we have to make in life. When my grandmother began to go downhill, my Mom did everything she could to keep from placing her in a home. She made out ok for a few months, but then the burden of caring for her Mom started to overwhelm her. My grandmother had dement...

Re: MORE underwater photos questions
Does your camera have an underwater setting? If it does, it will compensate for you. If we forget and leave it on Auto, the pictures are not good.
I have never processed an underwater picture with photo shop or any other software.

We have always been very happy with our Canon point and Shoots. We have had a SD950 for years and to tell the truth many times you can't tell the difference between it's pictures and our top of the line DSLR.

Re: What do you know about Lavender Hill?
We have stayed there a couple times and had no problems. The pool didn't get much sun, but it was a nice place to sit after a day at the beach. The free use of the laundry room was a big help!
