Re: Scorpion in the bathroom
This reminds me of our first visit to Cinammon Bay in 1983- we had a very large spider in the cabin- for some strange reason I was thinking to keep the environment balanced and not kill it so I swept it out of the cottage to let it go- one of the local employees was passing by and she took the broom...

Re: Safari Truck Rental
This brings back fond memories and a reminder of how times have changed. In 1986 when my kids were 7 and 4 we wanted to rent for one day while at Cinnamon Bay. The only rental I could get was a safari truck so we took it. It was President's Week. I drove with my wife and two kids in the back. Althou...

Island View Guest House is very nice and very reasonable. You can't walk to any restaurants but they serve dinner several nights a week.
Nice staff and owners. They arranged a taxi for us with a driver who lives across the street.

to DaveS007- A very recent poll in Forbes Magazine-(a very Republican business magazine) showed 33% of the public favored shutting down the government to defund Obamacare, the rest were opposed. Most Americans want to give it a chance and believe it will probably need changes which is not unusual fo...

We have always had good service from St John Car rental. If you do a search of the car rental companies by name here and on Trip advisor you will see what many people have to say about the different rental companies.

We have an AT&T Go Phone and have never had trouble calling on the island- we have never tried to call the U. S. mainland.

Re: A little rant about an unpleasant woman at Battery Hill
I agree with you completely. I hope that Cimarron notified the owners' association about the situation. Owners who want to rent their condo can't be happy about antagonizing renters. Is that villa- Poi Pu? the one in Chocolate Hole or is there another one in Cruz Bay? We might be looking for a 4 bed...

Amalie rentals- child seats and breakdowns?
We have always rented on St John from St John car rental but my daughter may bring her 3 children- the oldest would be almost five and the twins almost two. . Two questions- does anyone know if Amalie rents child seats and have you seen them- i.e. do they look safe and modern? If they do, that would...

Re: Need advice on choosing a villa for family vacation
We have stayed at Battery Hill and Lavender years ago when our kids were teenagers and enjoyed both. The two bedroom units at Lavender hill are on the top floors. they have two baths are very spacious and have a lot of deck space. The unit at Battery hill was much smaller with one bath and a small o...

Re: Westin Ferry vs. VI Ferry?
The taxi to the public ferry is easy. The reason people use private taxis like Rachel is that the regular taxis often stop at various resorts along the way and it can take from 30 minutes to almost an hour. This sometimes means that you have missed the ferry you were hoping to take and must wait for...

Re: Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel
They do not have parking. St John car rental is very close if you are renting from them. The big free lot near the car ferry terminal is about a 5-10 minute walk through town- not bad at all.
