Re: HIGH SEASON DREAMING

Our first 2 trips were just after Christmas and over New Years. Villa prices are at their highest but it's such a great break from the snow at home! Island seemed more crowded than other times. Next 3 trips were Presidents' week for 8 Tuff - that was my favorite time to go! Some villas will charge h...

Re: so apparently Sirenusa knew what terminex was using

Looking at the page posted by mizarumonkey, it's very clear what is being used; it's a short memo and the reference to Methyl Bromide is not at all hidden (not in a footnote or appendix, etc.) The one page memo has a spot for signatures from both SirenUsa and Terminix, so there is really no excuse f...

Re: Need park & fly Chicago O'hare

Have you looked into the Hyatt O'Hare? I've been there for meetings and their parking is covered, gated, and they have security. Never stayed overnight so I can't speak to the room quality.

Re: St john needs a _____

I agree with Exit Zero, toes, and fbo44. Any way to preserve the place we all love and protect the reefs and their inhabitants would be great. If that means curtailing my own ability to soak in a hot tub, dip in a pool, or have easy access to niceties, I'm good with that.

Re: Villa with built in hot tub near coral bay area

I stayed in Brisas del Mar with my two kids this past spring break. Loved it! Would work for 6 people: 3 bedrooms each with own bath. Nice kitchen. Beautiful views. Road felt a bit long our first time but it's really fine. The deck area is very breezy (as the villa name implies) but was very nice. T...

Re: Ram Head Hike BE AWARE

That poor girl. My heart goes out to her. I'm so creeped out by this: Salt Pond has always been a favorite of mine and I've done that hike alone and spent a morning there alone. I've also always felt safe there with my daughter. If something happened to her I'd want to kill the guy myself. I'm glad ...

I've rented from Courtesy for five different trips and really like them. Very easy to work with and they'll pick you up at the ferry.

I sent mine again too. That mocked up picture in the (now archived) article makes my stomach turn. Just awful.

Re: First time traveling with an 18 month old!

I'd want to have a talk with your sister about her thoughts on what to do when the baby cries at night. Are they strictly cry-it-out types, or will they get up and comfort/quiet the baby? There's no judgement here... even the sweetest babies don't always travel well or do well with a change in sched...

Re: underwater cameras

My kids use a Pentax Optio for underwater videos and it has been great. I bought it on Amazon and it has been on two trips with us. To be honest, we haven't really read up on the settings, so the underwater shots have varying color tones. They probably could be improved but still look good. Here are...

Re: Villa for 4 in Coral Bay area

Is this for 4 couples, or a couple of families? Just wondering if you're hoping for equal sized bedrooms. We stayed in Ixora (5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms) 2 years ago with another family and really loved the views and the location. I'm another Coral Bay fan; Ixora is on Ajax Peak Road which is very near...

Re: NYE holiday on STJ?!

Our first two trips were over NYE. We didn't even try to go out on NYE but instead made dinner at the villa. Each time we celebrated with other families and were very happy to be at the house. Less expensive, no wait, more fun. As martini girl said, it's more crowded. Villas are (much) more expensiv...

Re: Chateau Bordeaux

We saw the fence when we where there a few weeks ago. Like Randy said, it's farther from the restaurant than I thought it would be. We didn't do 8 Tuff this year :( but having done it the 3 prior years, I can say that every glimpse of beautiful blue water along the route helps! A fence view... not s...
