Re: 6+ BR rentals??

This is a tough one but if you are looking for two beautiful adjacent homes with great views and easy beach access look at Catherineberg area. On Wattapama road there are several. La Jolla Caribe has 5 bedrooms and there is a 6th room "media room" that we has 2 Futons and AC... we put kids...

Re: Miss Lucy's-the best meal we never had

This is so sad to hear. You may recall Guy Walsh was the co-owner and worked tirelessly daily to keep miss Lucy's running well. He passed away January 2014 after a long battle with cancer. I suspect we are feeling the loss of his leadership.

John Head rd Jeep Video

I have been checking in on the News of St John blog, they have posted some beautiful photos. (Newsofstjohn.com) It is under new ownership and looks nice. Today there was a video of a jeep ride from North Shore rd area up John Head rd to Wattapama and ends on La Jolla Caribes' driveway. There used to...

Re: Johnny Head Road - Catherineberg area

For those who are not aware, John Head Rd is now almost completely paved from the Catherinberg Ruins near centerline to just below Wattapama rd. (Wattapama is a dead end that goes to several villas: La Jolla Caribe, Peace and Plenty, Anole etc) It used to be rough getting to many Villas from Centerl...

Re: Need villa location help please

Look at upper carolina area. Our favorite location is Catherinberg, there are several larger Villas there. Not sure of your price range. Do not be afraid of no AC in Catherinberg. The road from Centerline to the Villas just got paved and the road down to N Shore is 5 minutes but can be rough. They g...

La Jolla Caribe N Shore Web Cam

Yet another web cam with great views! This is found on La Jolla Caribes web site: LaJollaCaribe.com under webcam. Looks like the villa is under new management with Cimaron and no longer Destination St John. At first I could not get it to work on my iphone then I saw they added a button for mobile de...

Have done the Bad Kitty twice, once with a large group of fifteen and once with a group of six. Service is great (drinks and snacks included)and the boat is the smoothest and fastest ride you can get. Your group will love it. Enjoy your trip!

We spend our days on the N Shore beaches and evenings in the Villa so we always like to be near the N Shore. We like the cool breezes and not needing AC, love the tropical breeze blowing across the bed at night. We love sunrise and sunset and seeing the white beaches as well as the distant islands, ...

Have a wonderful time! We chartered Wet Woodys in Feb 2012 and had a great time! We picked our own schedule and decided to explore all sides of Jost. Very smooth, clean and fast! P.S. FYI to Forumites, La Jolla Caribe villa has always been rented through Destination St John, I noticed their rental c...

I 2nd the G11, great underwater in its housing and out of the water out of the housing. Over the years it (and its predecessors G10, G9 etc) have had great reviews on this blog. I have had the Pentax and Olympus UW cameras without housings, great for snorkeling but after a year or 2 of frequent dive...

I have taken them twice, last was Aug 2010. We had a great time and felt we had enough time at each place. Remember this is the fastest boat so you do spend less time'getting there and back' than other boats. The ride is much smoother also as it is a Catamarran. The open bar all the time was great!

We have taken 2 large groups on Bad Kitty in the last 2 summers and had a great time. This is a fast catamaran power boat that is very stable, so if sea sickness is a concern this is the boat. We also spent more time at the sights and less traveling due to the speed. Great crew also.

no worries! Just take a cab to the Red hook Ferry. It runs all day until at least midnight every hour on the hour. It is a shorter boat ride, about 20 min.
