Re: Let It Rain
I hope you get the rain soon. We went through a drought that lasted years here in Texas, that only just officially ended with our recent floods. It was devastating to watch hundreds year old Oak trees, and entire acres of huge Pines die off. I always bring rain with me wherever I vacation, STJ inclu...

Re: Taking the leap from STT to STJ - Blue Bitch?
The dates didn't work out for my next visit (they stay pretty booked up), but Ann was the sweetest, most responsive person that I've dealt with over there while I was trying to figure it all out.
I would choose staying there in a heartbeat, and have it high on my list for visit #3.

Re: Recommendations for a trip to the Baths
I have a really dumb question. We're looking at taking Bad Kitty. I'm assuming that when it says that you swim to the rock formations (weather permitting), this means you can paddle your way there with snorkel/fins, correct? I am not a swimmer, but I can snorkel with the best of them. I have this im...

Add central Texas to the list too. There is a man in the Roundrock area infected with it. He recently traveled to the Caribbean, but they haven't said where.

Re: Snorkel gear rental
One good thing about Low Key ... and something that some folks might overlook ... If someone you know uses corrective lens/glasses, they have corrective masks for rent. They worked for my visually-challenged wife. Pricier, but worth it! I think the masks are only around twice the price - well worth...

Here's the ad. Caneel Bay posted it on their FB page this week.

Re: Reading on beach
I have a Nook, with the glowlight, so I can read under low-light conditions. I love it. It's small, thin and super light. But... I read an article from Money Magazine (I believe) a few weeks ago, and Nook was one of the items expected to vanish from the marketplace in the future. If I ever have to r...

Re: 5 DAYS FOR UNDER $1000?????
IMO the Pool Suite is the most private. The suite does not open up to the pool, it faces south and has it's own balcony. The only way to see the pool and the pool deck from the suite is if you go out on the balcony and look to your left. Otherwise, only the entrance door is off the pool deck. Gotch...

Re: 5 DAYS FOR UNDER $1000?????
Nevermind. I put on my googles and answered my own questions.
The Sugar Cane Suite does look more private. I'm thinking it's worth $1k to drive 5 minutes back to my lodging!
Thanks to the OP! I may have just found my next spot.

Re: 5 DAYS FOR UNDER $1000?????
Bushwacker, we stayed in the Sugar Cane Suite in February. It is directly underneath the Pool House Suite. I would say the suite itself is fairly private but the balcony area is not. The Sugar Cane Suite is more private and it has a bigger patio. Regardless, if you like complete privacy neither is ...

I love the looks of the Pool House suite, but I'd be concerned about privacy. Is that an issue?

Re: Sending a package ahead of time?
Good to know. I refuse to check luggage again, so this will be a good alternative for some odds and ends that I can't take in my carry-on.

Re: Sending a package ahead of time?
Probably a very stupid question, but where do you ship it to? The villa, or the management company?

We loved Courtesy also, but then they moved further away from the ferry dock. We use St John Car rental now. Good cars. good service and good pricing. Have a great trip,! JIM Oh, they moved? I had no idea that their current location was newer. St. John Car Rental was definitely closer. St. John is ...
