Perfect timing and locations for us! We'll be able to see south for the whole week. I'm going to scour the horizon from our hot tub every evening! Now if the weather will cooperate...the extended forecast is looking pretty cloudy. Also, will the moon affect visibility?

Awesome websites! I tried googling too, but didn't find anything near as helpful. I've looked for SC once before when I was on a sailboat in the BVI's. I crawled out of bed in the middle of the night...and looked south (I think) and I saw something that may have been the Southern Cross. I'm looking ...

Any astronomer types on the forum?

I've always wanted to see the Southern Cross constellation. (Cue up Crosby Stills, Nash and Young of course!) I'm not an avid star watcher, but I can find the Big Dipper. Does anyone know if, where, and when I might view it the first week of June? We will be staying in Coral bay for a few days and t...

Where exactly are the Coral Bay signs?

I know that SOMEBODY on this forum must know the answer to this question.
I thought I knew where they were, but now that I've been poring over the Google villa maps, I'm not so sure. And, can you point out Josephines too?
Thanks all!

Hi! I agree with everyone's advice on choosing a camera, and I love my Canon too. One other suggestion is if you decide on a point and shoot, you might want to get one with a viewfinder. When you are in bright light and can't see your screen, you can still see what you are shooting the old fashioned...

Thanks everyone! I think we will go with Sailview. The positive reviews just were so glowing from every review and every comment I've read. I can't wait. My husband just seconded the choice and he's agreed to go out every night we are there so it is ALL GOOD!!

Thanks for the suggestions Baileybay and ssremba. Both places would work out well. We will be on the Cruz Bay side for part of our vacation, but we wanted to also try out on the Coral Bay side to see how we liked it for future stays. I didn't realize it would be so difficult to find a place for just...

Nightly rental in Coral Bay

Hi all, My husband and I would like to try a few days in Coral Bay next spring in the off season. Does anyone have a recommendation for a clean, inexpensive place for just the two of us that will rent for just 3 days? Nothing fancy necessary. Sailview is on my list right now, but I would prefer to h...

Mmmm. I didn't stay in that room, but I think you have to be on the deck for the view.

Hi Sunny, We stayed at Argonauta last year - GREAT villa. The bedrooms are not completely equal, but they are all very nice. The two pod bedrooms have front and side decks and wonderful views. The inside upstairs bedroom (up the spiral staircase) has a side deck and a nice view too. The inside main ...

Oh yes, I know we were completely spoiled at Argonauta! The views were spectacular and the villa itself so relaxing and comfortable. I wish the group of us was as obsessed as I am, because I would go back there in a hearbeat! No the villa next door is still not finished. It seems that it is being fi...
