Re: SCAM ALERT! SCAM ALERT!
Next, Flip charges between 5% and 15% to you the guest on top of my rental rates. That's excessive in my opinion. Interesting. That is not true for our guests. I pay a yearly fee to Flipkey to advertise and that is it. FlipKey does not get a cut, nor do they charge any fees to me or my guests. Our ...

Re: Looking for a Villa for 4 couples
Casa La Famiglia, our family's new villa that has just come on the rental market has exactly what your wish list includes, including both indoor and outdoor showers in every master suite. We are a bit over the budget so if that changes, please keep us in mind. Have a terrific time on island. C http:...

Re: a question about doors for villa owners and renters
Having just finished our home, I can tell you that everyone who builds or renovates has issues with doors and windows. The humidity, heat and exposure to the harsh elements do havoc on them. I am all about the looks and my husband is all about the function. We have beautiful custom mahogany slider d...

Re: STT Airport Check-in and Carry-on question
I always pick up our customs form when we arrive on St. Thomas for the trip back. I fill it out before we head to the airport on our departure. Remember, only 1 per household needed.

Yes, we have done that flight and have had plenty of time with carry-on. The airport was very quiet.

Re: The road down past the Denis Bay monstrosity
Hi All, Last week, I phoned the DC office that Pia graciously shared with us and the gal who was under the main guy had no idea what happened. I then told her the website to look at with the article and picture as well as the Daily News Article. Well, she was in shock of course. I then explained abo...

I agree with Pia. Artificial turf is the way to go. Basically no maintenance and always looks green and beautiful. We have soccer fields on the mainland that are all going to turf, no one is building grass fields anymore.

Re: Anyone with advice on dealing with mental illness?
My cousin was diagnosed many years ago after many crisis interventions her family responded too. She needed to go into a hospital to help her doctors figure out what medications worked and at what amounts were needed because she was dangerous to herself and others. I have to say that she is doing wo...

Yes, the Catholic Church on St. John does feed the homeless two times per week, I think Friday's and Monday's? They are always looking for volunteers to help, but I agree with you that they need much, much more. I would contact Father Anthony at the church, he may know additional things you can do t...

April is Autism Awareness Month
Just wanted to mention that it is Autism Awareness Month. Lots of blue lights, lighting up buildings around the world. Please go to www.autismspeaks.com for great information about autism and how it affects our families and our children.
