Infant UV Play Shade

Hi everyone, just wanted to share the details on the infant beach shade I ordered from Amazon for our upcoming trip in August. Many of you gave me such excellent advice for travelling with our little girl, so I hope this is helpful to someone. This is the shade: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001...

Re: Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

Gosh, so many brilliant tips! EagleRayLover, I am definitely going to contact Catered To in order to see if I can mail diapers and such directly to them so our stuff can be waiting in the villa. That would be awesome! Knolmom, I am so glad to hear your family enjoyed Vista Caribe. Would you recommen...

Re: Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

Lol Teresa_Rae, we may be in the same boat- my girl hates to miss out on any action! Looks like Island Baby rents sunshades so unless I see a good one on sale for a great price I'll probably just rent...if she won't nap in it, one of her grandpas will!!

Re: Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

That's a good point RickG, she may absolutely hate the backpack! Hopefully sticking her in some at the store will be an indicator. She loves her baby bjorn so I have a feeling she'd be happy in one....but she always likes to surprise us ;) Great thinking, once we know what to look for I'll definitel...

Re: Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

I've heard great things about the Kelty backpacks. I think we'll be making an REI trip real soon to test some out...one of our favorite getting ready for STJ activities are trips to REI for fun outdoor stuff :D Anyone ever had issues with checking one of these baby carrier/backpacks at the gate? My ...

Re: Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

PA Girl, yes we'll be 6 adults and the little bit. Dohms sounds like a great idea, how far in advance do you typically book for that?
Thanks STTlover, I just signed up for email updates from One Step Ahead- never heard of that site, but looks like they've got some good stuff.

Re: Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

Wow, you guys are awesome! Thank you for all the excellent suggestions, this really makes me feel more confident about our decision to bring her down. I hope STJ will become her favorite place, like it is for us. So, we will definitely plan on bringing her car seat. Most likely ditch the stroller an...

Re: Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

Thanks everyone, these are great tips and really interesting to see how everyone does things a little differently. Kevin, I plan to rent a baby gate(s) so we can gate off the area on the deck that leads down to the pool. There will always be several sets of eyes on her regardless though! Teresa_Rae,...

Re: Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

Thank you STTlover, those are excellent tips! Your girl is one lucky lady!! What did you do for bug spray on her? I'd like to use something more gentle, but have it actually still repel.
Any activities that you found to be a big hit...or big fail?

Re: GoPro Users - Questions

We brought along a GoPro on our last trip and had some fun with it. You'll probably want some of the accessories along with it. We were lucky and borrowed some from a friend. The giant suction cup attachment was cool for sticking it on the jeep windshield so we have video to remember the crazy road ...

Travel tips for bringing a 15-month old to STJ

Hi all, I know this has been discussed some but I'm hoping you all may have some experience and can advise on areas I may be forgetting (or am just plain overwhelmed with)! We are bringing our 15-month old baby girl down for her first adventure in August. We'll also be bringing along both sets of gr...

Re: Advice on villa Sol Mate, pretty please

We are booked!!! Thanks to all the great suggestions, we decided against Sol Mate due to the stairs and layout and went with Vista Caribe instead. I also really liked Infinity, but it was booked already. This will definitely be the nicest place we've stayed on STJ yet- so excited! Thanks again :)

Re: Advice on villa Sol Mate, pretty please

Wow, thanks everyone for the great suggestions- so far they all seem amazing. I was hoping to stay around the $3500-4000/week range, but seeing some of these is making me rethink that.

Re: Car Rental Question

Plus....think about 6 sweaty, sandy people crammed into one jeep...doesn't sound very relaxing to me! We always rent from Courtesy and have been able to park in their small lot whenever we needed to. Also, as return customers I typically ask them for a discount and they have given us 10% off. This m...
