Re: ISO accommodations in January

https://www.vrbo.com/347246 The listing calls the driveway nice and wide - but the trick with it is not the width, it's the odd angle at which it intersects Bordeaux Mountain Rd. We could never back out and go down the hill, we always had to back out and go up the hill a bit to turn around. When the...

Re: ISO accommodations in January

How does he feel about driving? I stayed at a cute budget place on Bordeaux with very few steps and AC in the bedrooms, but the driveway is a little challenging, not terrible, and certainly not the hardest we've stayed at, but not super easy either.

Re: Favorite place to stay where you can walk to town

Patrick - does the construction next door affect the views from Battery Hill? Just wondering if I should remove it from our list of possible re-visits.

Re: Favorite place to stay where you can walk to town

Papabou - thanks for the clarification on the coins for the laundry - since I never got to use it, thanks to that terrible woman, I just saw the coin slots and assumed they were needed. We stayed in Palm Breezes, which had a main floor private bedroom and an upper good sized loft where my 2 adult so...

Re: Favorite place to stay where you can walk to town

The only issue I had at BH was with the laundry set up. There are resident machines and guest machines, and the morning I tried to do our laundry a resident had all the machines presoaking her pillows and wouldn't move  Also, you need quarters. The pool was nice and I was almost always the onl...

Re: Favorite place to stay where you can walk to town

Battery Hill condos is not a bad walk - easier to town than back, but still doable. We rented a 2 bedroom there a few years ago that was nice.

Re: 6+ BR rentals??

Anyone in your group need a more budget friendly option? I ask because last year our group got too big for the house we had already reserved, and some of those folks were on a bit more of a budget. We ended up renting a second house that was just down the mountain, but a lot more budget friendly. Ev...

Re: Viewtiful?

Looks like we have decided on Swogjan's Dragon. This one has been on our list for quite awhile, so when I got the quick response from them we decided it was time to try it. Plus, it has some extra room so if we get a person or two deciding to tag along at a later time we will be able to fit them in.

I love Rick's rules - but perhaps my favorite one came courtesy of BillVT:

No matter how lost, burnt, disappointed, drunk or disillusioned you are, smile. You will fool the rest of us and and we will all have a better time for it.

Re: Check in at airport – AA rules and customs changes?

We used our smartphone boarding passes in August with no problems. Daphne is the name of the porter, and she is great. First thing I do when I get out of the cab is ask the nearest porter is Daphne is available. It was her day off our last time there - I told the porter I expected him to be as aweso...

Re: Viewtiful?

Shortly after I posted, I got an email from them. When I hadn't heard back in so long I had sent out some other inquiries though, so now we have to weigh a couple more options before we decide. I'm definitely leaning towards Viewtiful though.

Drakes Lookout - Bordeaux Mountain - another lovely home with a pool and killer views. 3 bedrooms, one of them in a separate pod. It appears that Drake's Lookout is now listed as just a 2 bedroom: http://www.vrbo.com/422673 Yeah, it was like that when we rented it as well - They do not do a good jo...
