Re: join mack & papabou for 7/16 snorkel trip

Hey, don't give up. Do you need only one more person for July 16? There's still quite a lot of time. Hope it happens for you, it's so much fun!

Re: Trip Report Coral Bay Early June

I'd like to share a good webpage about snorkeling safety and paying attention to ocean wave sets, currents and surge.

Re: Am I being a nervous nellie?

Just my view...if an owner wants to show their house during a time that it is being rented, then the owner ought to reveal that it's for sale before a deposit is made.

Re: Most Overrated / Most Underrated

Bluestreak12, I just took a look at those two properties. Wow! Maybe those pools will be warm enough! I noticed that one has a black interior and the other is solar heated. Hope you write a review and let us know. Something else that is underrated: finding an easy road and driveway on the Coral Bay ...

Re: Most Overrated / Most Underrated

Bluestreak12, thanks for resurrecting this thread. It's fun to read! So, I am surprised by your comment about the pool in July. We just returned from an early June trip and I was kind of missing a pool some afternoons. But if the pool is cold, forget about it! Love Coral Bay! I think the Calabash Bo...

Re: Trip Report April 26-May 6/video

Oh, thanks for the link. That is Spyglass, not Shipwreck!

Thanks for posting more about Brown Bay. Oh, that would be a bit disappointing to find the mirky conditions after hiking the trail!

Re: Trip Report April 26-May 6/video

Thanks for your trip report! I was surprised to see your comment that Shipwreck Landing is closing since I didn't hear anything about that from Coral Bay locals during my recent visit. I like that place! Can you fill us in? I think that the land, building and 4 leases are actually for sale. Here's a...

Re: join mack & papabou for 7/16 snorkel trip

I don't think the rules have changed. A post on TA is not deleted unless it is reported to the moderator. Someone out there did not like that particular post. They reported it which alerts the moderator, then it got deleted. Most other posts like these are not reported. (And I am not suggesting that...

Re: join mack & papabou for 7/16 snorkel trip

Hello. My husband & I had a great time June 4 on the Busy Bee We "recruited" other snorkelers to join us on TA, beginning with a single person, and adding a couple. We even had to turn down an additional couple because we had five already and as you know, the maximum is six. As you all...

Re: Trip Report Coral Bay Early June

Safety issues: This was the first time we tried snorkeling to the rocks in the center of Salt Pond. My husband panicked out in deep water while having an allergy attack to a highly seasoned taco he had for lunch. There was lots of histamine release, nasal congestion, coughing etc. At one point he lo...

Trip Report Coral Bay Early June

My husband and I just returned June 7 from our 4th trip to St John, a one week stay on the Coral Bay side. We had mostly good weather with a few days of early-mid morning cloudy skies and beautiful afternoons. This was the first visit for us in June... the island was so GREEN, water seemed a little ...

Re: Any reviews on Coconut Breeze villa in Coral Bay?

We have only stayed in Coral Bay (3 times) and I'm curious about Fish Bay. Snorkeling is our favorite pastime in St John, so we love the easier access of Coral Bay to some of the (IMO) best spots. Aside from being closer to Cruz Bay with sunset views, I wonder what the advantages of Fish Bay are. Le...

Re: 7 Passenger Rental Cars

One of the two cars we rented last spring was a Durango. We were told at the rental agency on our last day that it can be very difficult to drive on steep, muddy roads. Glad we didn't have rain and a steep, muddy driveway! Better to rent two Explorers.

Re: Oddest thing that you pack.....??

Well I'm sure lots of people would consider it odd that I packed my full wetsuit last year and used it everyday (last week of March-early April). I stayed out in the water snorkeling as long as I wanted and it was great.
