Sorry, I should have read your post more closely! Both my suggestions are over on the Cruz Bay side.

Miles Away gets consistently good reviews for couples. Also Sopra Mare looks nice to me for a small property.

When you go to the villa reviews page, hit control "F" at the same time. then type in the villa name you're looking for and it will highlight the reviews for that villa. The control + F command works on any webpage to find text on that page.

For me, A/C in the bedrooms is critical for a few reasons: 1. Sunburn - if you're sunburned, there is nothing worse than laying in a hot stick bed with bad sunburn 2. Security - if you want to lock up the villa at night, you'll need A/C 3. Humidity - after about 5 days, EVERYTHING is damp and it can...

I appreciate the honest review and am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at the villa. Whether your budget is large or small, there are choices within each cost bracket, so it's good to know about those properties that have disappointed others - and the specific reasons for the disappointme...

If you can catch the name, you can look it up on yachtspotter.com, although that doesn't give you the owner's name, but does give a lot of info about the boat itself.

It sounds like you're considering villas in Coral Bay as well. I've found it's much easier to find ones with interior access to the bedrooms (essential for toddlers) over on the Coral Bay side rather than the Cruz Bay side. Take a look at Seabiscuit, Rhumb Runners, Bay House, and Stone Harbor. All h...

On the cruz bay side of the island, I've had my eye on Blue Aweigh as a budget-friendly option for a small family. It has access to a pool, but it looks like the pool is not directly outside the deck/door openings (good when you have toddlers). Other options you may want consider are Villa Catalina ...

Please feel free to pm me with any questions on Vistaero. Also pswlrw posted a link to some pictures of Vistaero on a blog/shutterfly link (back in spring 09).

Some others you may want to look at that have either connecting rooms and/or bedrooms with sleeper sofas in them (for the little kids with their parents) are: Vistaero (I stayed here in 09, worked really well for our group of 12 (6 adults, 6 kids) Edens Whim (may not take kids under 8) Crystal Seavi...

I also had the same thoughts about safety when considering traveling as a small family - I figure the more people on a property (especially if some are permanent residents who can and will stick around to press any charges for break-ins) the less appealing a target for burglaries etc. But I also hav...

A couple I can think of with 3 bedrooms under one roof & one level in the main house and in Choc hole are Eden's Whim, Villa Villekula, Amani, Morgan Point, Ciellodonna, Nautilus and maybe Viridian Garden. Ristaba has 4 bedrooms on lower level all accessible via interior stairs. Beach Garden als...

great review! A couple of specific questions (if you don't mind!) was the main living/dining/loft bedroom pod air conditioned? And was it easy to secure the villa at night and when you weren't there? Did it seem like you could lock up the doors and windows?

Thanks!

The only large house I've rented is Vistaero in May 09 overlooking Rendezvous Bay. It's not the Coral Bay side, but it worked very well for our group of 12. The decks are very large, pool is big too (maybe 15 x 20), common spaces (kitchen, living room) were also very spacious. The view is spectacula...
