Watching air fares and may to to StJ in 2 weeks? How has the rain been the last few days? I hear the mosquitos are bad. IF there is a dry spell for a few days will that help much with them for mid June?

how much does it cost for a cab ride for 4 from the airport to red hook and then cost of ferry for 4? Pia thanks for the option at Crown which looks like it is real close to the airport

I have never been to the Virgin Islands. I have just heard about the ride. How far of a ride is it from the airport to the car ferry although not sure if we will be renting a car. Is there a private boat that comes to the airport since it looks like it is near the water.

Are there other otions than taking the rough cab ride to red hook or amalie than the public ferry to St. John. I will not be staying at Caneel or the Westin as I heard they thier own boats. Is there a dock at the airport that does private charters to cruz bay or something like that

The iguanas may not be agressive but I still dont want to be close to them.

JJ Shaw. That last picture is a lizard which I dont mind. Does anyone know if iguanas swim in salt water as one poster said. I just dont want them on the beaches and ocean. Any more info on that. I had 1000 views on this post so I am glad I was not ashamed to ask. It appears many others are concerne...

thanks for the respones and anyone else please chime in. It sounds like there are a lot in some areas and not in other areas. They have some serious tails. I will rule out Gallows. The reason I said it sounds congested is reading that.
cant find parking spaces at the beach or cruz bay. parking tickets. friend who goes to st john said dont go to trunk due to cruise ship crowds, etc.

Mindehankins-thanks for the detailed beach info. That is the type of info that is helpful. The more I read about St. Johns it does sound more crowded and congested than the other caribbean places I have been. Have not been to the Arubas, Jamaica, Atlantis, DR< Cancun or other touristy tyoe places.

thanks for the replies. I think I have maybe a little better feel now of the roads. I hear the cab ride from the airport to Red Hook is rough and no fun. I am going to start a new post with a different question by this weekend
